The grass-is-greener-elsewhere syndrome

I go through the dating section of LS and I'm thinking while most of the OPs have problems in their relationships, at least they're getting some TLC.

Call me silly or having the the-grass-is-greener-elsewhere syndrome. But don't you wish you were in a relationship? Since no relationship is perfect, why not have someone you can talk to, be with and call your own, no?

At this point, I do miss the companionship and friendship. Selfishly, I will admit I am not ready for commitment yet. Someday, I will be.

I am curious to see what other's responses.

I feel the same. I thought I'd be fine doing stuff on my own but as soon as I have I've realised that I miss the companionship of friendship of it all.

There are pros and cons in a relationship. Weighing them, how many of you still miss being in one?

I do.

I think I have the opposite problem of the majority: I actually need to learn how to be with other people and to give back.

As a natural introvert, I can get really comfortable being by myself - until I actually look around and see happy, smiling couples. Then it dawns on me that I miss the cuddles and the silliness of being with someone close.

I also live alone - which has always been my dream (having grown up in a cramped flat with my family )- but after 7 years, the novelty does grow thin.

I admit it: I love having companionship. I love having someone to interact with who 'gets me'. I had it and lost it after 4.5 years, which just make it all the more frustrating.

I'm sorry for your relationship.

I'm independent so I don't really need much company but I do miss being in a relationship most of the times. After a while, there's only so much you want to eat alone, grocery shop alone, go out alone.

Yeah, so am I.;)

I'm fine with doing all the above (except maybe grocery shopping as I hate cooking!). I even prefer shopping alone (even without friends).

But if I had to choose between living with someone I love and living alone, I would chose the former, if only because I already know what it feels like to live alone. I don't hate it, am comfortable with it, but I do miss having my ex come over and 'veg out' with me.

That's how I feel.

I'm just as comfortable on my own as I am with a bunch of mates, however, in both of those situations, being single means I still miss the cuddles and closeness that you only feel with the one you love.
