Somebody please tell me that it is okay to end the friendship

Recommended Posts

I work in retail. My ex works in the same place. She has a boyfriend. She came in the checkstand where I was at. Old feelings came up for me. During luch, I went over her house for 10 minutes to let her know. That I must end this friendship with her. It is the only way to cope with it. I was indecisive about ending the friendship altogether. She leaves it up to me. I want to end it but I want to be able to talk to her again. But, I can't talk to her without having these old feelings come up. Somebody please tell me that it is okay to end the friendship altogether.

But why do you think you need the approval from strangers on the internet to make the decision to end a friendship with an ex you still have feelings for? Do whatever YOU feel is right.

Hey Befuddled! I have concurred that when people come here, they already know what's in their best interest. I think people come here for validation.

If you cannot handle having a friendship with your ex, if it's too painful, by all means, end the friendship.

Thanks for the input, I guess I need justification for this. It is just sad for me to do this. I describe myself as too sensitive. She said to me, "I am a customer, you have to help me." I don't know why I don't want to end the friendship, maybe it is the grand illusion, that the "one day" will come around. Thanks again.

But, you guys should see her, she has the sweet innocent look on her face, nobody could do wrong to her.

thanks for the insight

You know, one of my ex's told me that she couldn't be friends with me, because it hurt too much. My thoughts were, 'HAH, I've got you - you are still in love with me - neener neener neener - and if I still wanted that punani, I could have it - !!! -

Honestly, I think I would have been devastated if she were to say - 'Yeah, sure -- I'd love to be your friend, Vivid. :(

By wanting to ending your friendship with her, you are obviously showing her that you could still be in love with her and are still hurting.

My advice - REMAIN FRIENDS!!! :bunny::bunny::bunny:

Look after yourself. If it's easier to not be her friend, then end the friendship until you can handle it, maybe down the line sometime. That's fine.

I agree.

My advice, do not talk to her. Don't tell her that you do not want to be her friend. If she talks to you. Answer her with yes, no, maybe, alright, I'm busy answers.
