Think I am on the right track?

First off i just want to thank you guys as you really gave me some great advice last time I has an issue.

 

I am a senior in high school and back in December I introduced myself to a girl (a junior) who I really thought was good looking. I asked for her number and she hesitated and said she didn't really know me but still gave it. At the time my friend said she kinda thought she liked someone else. I texted her once the next day and she didn't answer and left it at that.

 

Now 5 months later, I fell into a dilemma as 2 of my senior prom dates had to cancel on me. As one of my best friends was going who is also best friends with the girl I met, she suggested we go together. My crush thought it would be kind of awkward and again was hesitant yet my best friend convinced her it wouldn't be.

 

I asked her casually and she gave me a hug and told me to text her. I talked to her the next day about more prom stuff and everything always seems to go well as she has a great personality.

 

I texted her the other night to ask about our plans and it turned into a conversation. She usually waited like 10-15 mins to respond as I took about 5 if that means anything. We talked for a good 3 hours and then before I went to bed I asked if she wanted to come get lunch with us over spring break and she replied "sureee! Sounds good. Nighttt"

 

I kinda like her again and I am not sure what to do next. Should I just take the next step of going out in a group? I don't talk to her for a few days at a time, is that bad? Or is the slow pace working for me?
