Hi i was thinking of getting a wii fit plus with balance board to try and tone myself. Has anyone got one and have you noticed any difference, do they really work? many thanks x

I don't know anything about the WII Fit but I just went to amazon and searched for wii fit plus with balance board and it came up with an almost 5 star rating and over 900 reviews... seems hot and good to me

hi thanks ..was just abit unsure about it...i dont want to spend the money on it and it not work lol although i have seen it counts how many calories you burn and how much you weigh etc...sounds too good to be true lol

The Wii fit is fun.

 

If you have not exerciesd in a long time, are really out of shape, or new to exercise regiment in general, then the Wii Fit is a great starter platform.

 

Usability of the controls is easy and it has engaging exercies such as the balance games (juggling, segway, obstacle course, and soccer for one) to keep you focued and on task. The Wii can be excellent tool for logging in your exercise progress that conveniently estimates how many calories you have burned, will record your waist measurements, as well as pedometer readings.

 

However if you are already reasonably fit and toned then the Wii could lack the challengge you seek. Still I enjoy the Wii for the balance and Yoga routines and you can always mix and match. Its a great fitness break to a normal routine--at least for me.

to be honest im not that fit, i do alot of walking but thats about it. Ive been told yoga will help tone me up abit so thats what im after really as i dont really need to lose any weight. I was thinking of doing some excercises aswell as using the wii fit to help me along abit. The waist measurement thing on the wii fit will help alot though :)

Lift heavy weights + eat enough protein = look better in swimsuit.

Don't buy any Wii right now. They are coming out with the Wii 2 eventually, buy that instead.

Well, how much do you play on the Wii? If you don't use it much then you won't use the Wii Fit much either. Sure it'll be a gimmick at first and you'll use it but after a while the "new shiny toy" effect will wear off and it will only be used at Christmas.

 

It's a game. Get it if you like to play games. Then you will get more exercise while you play.

 

If you don't like to play games then get fit the normal way, by going to the gym or aerobics classes or jogging or swimming or cycling.

i cant get to a gym or anything as i have my little boy and also gyms are expensive so this seems a better option :) i would be doing other excercises to just needed a little help

And when you get bored of the included games you have to buy more, they are expensive. You can get a lot of workout DVDs for the price of a Wii Fit and Wii Fit games...

 

But if you like playing games on the Wii already, then go for it!

yer the games are pretty expensive but im hoping if i stick to this ill get results with doing a few other excercises too..im slim as it is just need to be abit more toned...looking forward to doing it :)

To each there own on the health regime. I do my workouts at no expense. OFten Lugging items to and fro helps the arm muscles, Doing squats is standard when doing loads of laundry, raking the yard carries other workouts. ALl the while I am burning calories. If you want to pay for the animation and the "instant" gratification of seeing computized results, have at it. There are some education *types* of moves to learn from but overall you are still standing in a confined area doing the same thing that is done when going for walks, raking, or jutting up and down stairs....

i do alot of walking and stuff to excercise, im not fat or anything actually a few people have said i look abit anorexic :( but mostly i want something that shows me exactly what to do.With the wii fit plus it tells you if your doing it right which i think is what i need. Im thinking about doing crunches and stuff too along side the wii so i suppose it cant really hurt. The only thing that worries me is that if i burn fat you cant spot exercise so it might come off places i dont want it too :(

Remember someone's regimen may not be a good fit for you, so keep seeking a routine that feels comfortable, is motivational, and easy to manage for you, especially since you are resetting your exercise goals. The Wii Fit is one avenue to rebuild your fitness level. Its certainly is not harmful and you already have the console and disk.

 

Of course when you are ready, able, and discplined, you can always move on to something else.

 

And as always---have fun!

Even though many showcase about weight loss and that is not your goal, but to get fit, these videos illustrate that it can be a helpfull nudge for some reviewers to get in better shape and they are having fun doing it.

Bought Wii Fitness for my girl. She does bikram yoga light weights some running. She burned out on Zumba and does Wii now. Loves it and I see the difference.

what would anyone suggest on how many days to do it and for how long?..

 

i was thinking of doing the jogging and boxing to burn some calories along with some excercises
