GodSpeed
Hello everyone, This is my first time here and I'm sure this question has been asked alot. In fact I know it has because I've used the search on here and found some stuff on the topic but I havne't found my answer. If there is one :\ Anyway... My name is Ryan. I'm a slim guy. Ive been working out my arms/back/chest with about 8 different excercises for about a year now. I like the way my arms, chest and mid to upper back looks, but I am having trouble with the abdominal area. Im cursed genetically with these love handles and I know that its fat, and I know you can't spot reduce. I also know that the abdominal area is a tough area to lose fat (for men). Also, when I bend over, theres obviously extra fat hanging around the mid section because it rolls over. I eat right and watch my fat intake, and keep it down to a very low minimum, but it doesn't seem to be helping. I would really really really, somehow like to get rid of this fat, whether it be running more, or walking, or bycicling. Anything, I'm very motivated and I can do it, If I know what it is I need to do. Thankyou in advance, and im looking forward to your suggestions. I would also like to add, I'm going on vacation in july for a week and I was hoping that if I start now, that I might be able to achieve a noticable difference by then. -Ryan
longlegzs80
Hey Ryan, Welcome to the forum!! I have been going to the gym for quite sometime myself, and just found out some good info afew days ago at the gym. So, here it is. Because what you asked on this thread is a question I had to the trainer I was talking to because I have been working out, but not seeing really any results on my stomach. Okay, don;t stick to the same excersize routine everyday because your muscles get used to the same equipment therfore, you don't see much results. Too, you might have to consider doing 40-60 minutes of cardio like the bike, the eliptical, spin classes etc to loose the weight that is on your stomach so you can end up seeing what is underneath which are probubly rock hard abs. Too, make sure you do not skip any meals and keep eatting healthy. Another thing is to keep your metabolism up there, you want to eat every 3-4 hours so your metabolism has something to burn. Hope this helps you out. I know, that if you are looking to loose weight anywhere on your body, you should stick to eatting right and doing lots of cardio. But too, it is important to rest your muscles.
Author GodSpeed
Thankyou for the help, The 8 excercises I spoke of weren't abdominal excercises, twice a day I do crunches and twist crunches, thats aside from the 8 excercises. Im not expecting my abdominal muscles to show through the fat, because.. i know they can't. But i'm going to continue with the cardio and not skip lunch anymore.

I have an inch of stomach I am trying to lose. Months ago I had more of a stomach to lose, so it's only a matter of time. I'm focusing on a lot of cardio: Biking, jogging, and walking. From what I understand this is the only way to burn off that excess fat and turn it into energy. It just stinks that I'm doing well in other areas, but it's taking longer than I expected to flatten my stomach up. I'm just going to keep at the cardio and after a while I'll get what I want. You sound like you're in good health now, but you just have a bit of lovehandle and stomach left, like me. I recommend sticking to the cardio.
