My Long Distance Relationship

Hello,

 

I have been in a long distance relationship for the past 10 months and we have been broken up for about 5 weeks now. I still haven't been able to get over her and move on. I still really miss her and I still do love her. We have both been broken up before and it was fine the first time when we were broken up. However not this time. We started talking after a year after we have broken up the first time and slowly I got sucked into being in another relationship with her. I really want to patch things up with her but she told me she wanted to be friends because it's really hard for us to see each other. I'm currently serving in the Singapore Armed Forces with 7 more months to go and she's all the way in Boston studying for her degree for another 3 more years. Our mutual home is in Hong Kong and when i get out of the army I will be heading back there to start work. And whenever she's on her holiday she will tend to come back to Hong Kong. I have used almost all her leave on her already. She keeps telling me that she doesn't want to get hurt and cry whenever we part. And that this long distance relationship isn't working out for her. I really can't have this transition from a girlfriend to becoming my friend. What should to get back with her? Or should I just move on? Or is it really just bad timing?! I really need help.

I'm sorry you're hurting, your situation sounds really painful and involved. I think you will find more help here if you put your post in the Long Distance Relationship forum, or the Breaking Up forum. The people there are good at helping to sort out the feelings that go along with this.

 

Right now you're in the OW/OM forum - so unless your relationship was an affair, which it doesn't sound like, we probably won't be as much help as the people on the other forums.

 

I hope you find the peace you are looking for. I can sense the pain in your post, it is not a fun place to be
