canyon
BACKGROUND: I'm in college, and I am a member of a club which i am very involved in, attend every meeting, etc. For some time I have been noticing this girl, who has attended meetings for the last year and a half. I didn't really develop a 'thing' (crush?) for her until a few months ago. I really like almost everything about her, including her personality and view on life, and I think she's really cute. I have a chance to have a conversation with her at almost every meeting and other events, and I also see her on campus during classes from time to time. The problem is that these are short conversations, due to the fact someone (another guy or girl) usually gets in the way (remember these are club meetings). Also, she is definitely shyer than most girls, which dosen't exactly help the communication aspect. I myself used to be kind of shy, now i'm more outgoing, but I can't say I'm the life of the party, so sometimes there are awkward pauses. THE DILEMNA: I would like to ask this girl out on a date. The thing is, I don't think she feels comfortable around me yet. From past experience, I know that when me and a girl had a good long conversation, the girl was much more interested and willing to hang out with me. But I haven't reached this point with the girl I like now, even though I have seen her every week for a few months now. I feel that the best thing would be to ask her out so she knows my intentions, and that we would have a chance to discuss stuff without any interruptions and see if we have chemistry (like each other, etc). I'm pretty sure she at least has a crush on me, I catch her starring at me from time to time, whenever she sees me she gets the biggest smile (and this dosen't happen when she sees other people), she tries to converse with me etc..My problem is I tend to rush things and I don't know if it's time to make a serious move or am I rushing things trying to ask her out now? I'd like to add that I already have her phone number.
