I hear differing opinions on the benefits. Some people say its just a fat producer even if exercising at the same time. Does anyone have an opinion. Im trying to put on 15-20 lbs.

As someone who was very thin when I was younger and as I've gotten older I have consistently put on those 1-3 lbs per year and I'm no longer thin..

My weight is perfect and all I had to do was let nature take it's course.

Why would you want to put that kind of weight ?

You do realize that you can't stop nature from working and those 15-20 lbs later on in life are going to be hard to shake ?

How thin are you now ? I was 114 lbs 5'9" when I graduated from HS so I understand being thin and here I am almost 30 years later at 155 lbs.

I am 5 foot 9 152.

I played soccer through college and was cut and in shape. Now Im just smooth. I lost the definition and lean look after stopping. Now I just look skinny and decided to try and reshape to a bigger brawnier size.

I hear what youre saying but not sure Im 100%. Are you saying wait it out and let age weight happen?

Depends what you mean by exercising. If you mean lifting heavy, progressively and consistently while while using it to supplement proper protein intake, along with enough carbs and fat at sufficient calories levels, then it can be helpful. Though it is nothing to special and simple Whey protein can give you the same benefits at cheaper prices. Though eating real food will do the same thing.

TheHead:

Your in luck. I am a hard gainer and I have been using Muscle Milk for quite some timme (8 Months infact!). I have gained a great deal of muscle, I look a lot better, and I have not gagged once from drinking these shakes.

I would recommend you get the Chococlate Chip Cookie Dough and the Strawberry. They taste amazing and if you mix them in milk and some ice-cubes they taste like a shake you would buy from Mcdonalds!

Thanks for the responses. Art has a point but Im only 29, dating, so impatient to look as good as possible now. My uncle says the same thing "just wait. Youll fill out." But its tough.

GrayClouds: Serious question---does it give you belly pooch? Ive heard it said it migrates to the belly area leaving the rest of you slim but now theres a kind of small distended belly look.

VicJay79: What have been your gains. Are you measuring them by pounds or inches?

People gain fat in different places depending of your genetic distortion but with guy the gut and lower back seem to be our favorites.

There is nothing magical about Muscle Milk. What is going to give you size is hard work lifting heavy 3 times a week while eating enough calories of the proper micros of protein , carbs and fat. Do those things and you can hope to put on around 2lb a month as a newbie, more if your not too concern looking real lean. If that is the case you likely hit your go 4 months or so.

@VicJay79 another definition of a hard gainer is someone who is train poorly (not enough weight, inconsistency. too much cardo...)or eating poorly (not enough protein, not enough calories, pro micros...), or both.

Hey thehead, even though you accused me of being somebody else I'll go ahead and speak about this a bit. Maybe you won't think I'm some other person, or whatever you're getting at.

MuscleMilk is a blend of differing types of proteins that will help give you a longer lasting positive nitrogen balance in the muscles. In BB speak this will allow faster shuttling of oxygen and nutrients into the muscles, thereby garnering an increase in muscle efficiency and ultimately size and definition. The protein itself consisting of a chain of many different amino acids will help rebuild the muscle after it has been damaged from workouts.

Now... the musclemilk you get already prepacked in the bottle isn't the sort you would use directly after, or post workout. This is intended to be a "meal replacement" or just a nutrient partitioner. Personally MM isn't my preferred blend, as it tends to give me a bit of gas. This is assumably from the lack of enzymes in the drink itself, and also from high levels of lactose.

If you're getting into working out and you're trying to gain some lean muscle to your build, I would suggest using this MM as a meal replacement and also getting a post workout protein powder. I prefer Optimum Nutrition's, as it mixes well and tastes good. This is Whey Protein Isolate and Concentrate and will VERY quickly be absorbed by the body and shuttled to the muscles. It is the most bioavailable protein out there. Get that stuff in you within 30 minutes after any resistance training.

Understand that Muscle Milk or any other protein supplement will not do much for you if your not lifting regularly and progressively. I suggest 3x week, full body, compound lifts such as Press/Bench/Deadlift/Squats/Dips/Pull-ups/Row

If your looking to educate yourself a bit more- this will help:
