I'm not in this boat but have a couple of co-workers (guys) who were VERY late bloomers but are happily engaged now. My favorite met his now-fiance when he was 34 - prior to that he was convinced he'd be single forever.

Was it just pure luck, or did he really try and work for it?

I wonder about this as well.

 

One important factor would be the age of the woman.

 

As younger women are less likely to "settle."
