milkmaterial
hi guys, i used to work out last year but i had some problems (</3). around january i began rigorous dieting, changing how i eat. i lost 15 kgs or 25 lbs or something , now i am 50 kgs or 110 lbs (if my calculations are correct). although i can fit into my skinny jeans i am still fat. im 5'3 and my tummy isnt that great. i cant look great in lingerie although i fit in it. but that is not the point. i have to admit the thought of working out or gym seems distasteful to me since i associate it with a painful memory of someone..i know that sucks and i need to move on and get over it. but i will soon. is this normal? i am like 110 lbs and if i lose more lbs i'd be like 90 lbs or something. i dont really know what to do. i eat sunny side up egg and whole wheat bread, fruits, some coffee, and on weekdays (just one day) i eat sushi, or mars bar or snickers bar w/ almond. im not that unhealthy but the thing is i just really ignore working out. am i gonna lose this fat eventually or its gonna stay unless i work out? please help thanks
GrayClouds
It sounds like losing weight is not the issue but in fact you need to put on some. By weight I am talking about muscle. The problem is most people when they diet is that while losing fat they lose just as much fat so you body mass is lower but your the perdition of muscle to fat is still the same, hence skinny fat. So what do you do? A combination of eating more protein while lifting some heavy weight 3x week will get you where you want to be. Get you started pick up the book: "The New Rules of Lifting for Women: Lift Like a Man, Look Like a Goddess" And head over to this site read through the articles starting with: http://jcdfitness.com/2010/02/the-muscle-building-guide-for-women/ And this one: http://www.leighpeele.com/bulky-muscles-and-training-females-the-definition

Leigh 87
Hi, I was in your position; I am around your height, and was 110 lbs too. I found that only people with small bones can be this weight, however, most people with normal body types should be 120 lbs at their slim weights. Providing this weight is healthy for you, you should look inti Pilates. I am an apple shape too, and while my thighs ( or not part of my body) are by any means thin, but my thighs r the slimmest area when compared to my trunk. My stomach, breasts, and butt r the biggest so I focus on Pilates for my core, and I run for cardio; us apples do not need to work as hard on our arms, and I find that plain running and Pilates is enough for arms. Pilates is all about your core as you would have heard, so I would do less than 3 days a week heavy weights, and do more Pilates. Weighs ar fine, but in terms of your thicker midsection, doing more Pilates and cardio that use your core ( such as running or taking up dancing!), do more for your core than doing more weights and less cardio and Pilates. Author milkmaterial
ok thanks leigh, what do you think about yoga? i also want to improve my flexibility
Lauriebell82
It seems like with smaller women (5'2-5'3 range) there is a part of the body where weight goes. The part of my body is my thighs. They are huge. I could be so skinny (like 110lbs) and my thighs would still not look skinny. I've tried exercises that target them and it just doesn't work. I have noticed that when I try to lose more weight (as in fat) the fat that is stored in my thighs goes down and everything else on my body relatively stays the same. Everybody loses weight differently, and I'm not advising you to lose TOO much weight, but another 5 pounds may take the extra fat out of your stomach. I do recommend yoga, but I think if you want your stomach to get thinner you will have to work out.
