Ross MwcFan
I'm surprised by the amount of women that actually like beer bellies on guys. So I was just wondering how popular beer bellies really are.
LeaningIntoTheMuse
I asked this question on ENA, and got a 20 page long thread, with 99% of women saying that they don't like it. So be prepared, Ross. I hate it, too, since I have one. But I think women tolerate it - they will never find it attractive, though.
ladyinlimbo
I've never heard of women having a 'thing' for beer bellies on men. That's a new one. I think there's nothing more unappealing on a guy than a big ponch of fat. The thought of having sex with a guy with a beer belly, with him being on top and his big sloppy belly jiggling around, ugh.....not very attractive. The other turn off, also, is that a beer belly signifies an unhealthy or lazy lifestyle; improper diet, lack of exercise, not much pride in appearance. Nope, not a turn on for me at all; quite the opposite.
Star Gazer
While I greatly prefer a guy with meat on his bones to a skinny guy, I most definitely do NOT find beer bellies attractive. They are a sign of gluttony and laziness to me, which is quite unattractive.
Jazzari
No, I don't like beer bellies. I even prefer wiry instead of overly muscled.
Sanman
Women generally like the fittest guy they can get without becoming self-conscious about their own bodies.
TheLoneSock
Women generally like the fittest guy they can get without becoming self-conscious about their own bodies. This right here. Women want fit. They want athletic and strong, longevity and good health. Other than the odd rarity, the only reason any woman out there might prefer some chub is probably because they have some chub themselves, and don't want to become self-conscious - which explains the above statement even further. sanskrit
Thread needs more information. "Beer belly" means one thing to certain people, i.e. big beer belly, and other things to other people, i.e. not a perfectly flat stomach, slight love handles, or even lacking a six pack on someone who is in excellent shape. Bodies are individual of course, but men tend to harbor more fat abdominally than women, who tend to harbor more glute and thigh fat in addition to breasts. A flat but undefined stomach on a man is the equivalent of a six pack, or at least highly defined stomach on a woman, in terms of general physical shape. I wonder if the answers would change any in light of the above?

It doesn't matter much to me. My ex had a body fat around 6% and great abs and I loved it. A next ex had love handles and a gut which I loved grabbing onto. However a beer belly doesn't sound appealling. All I can imagine is some plumber looking guy with his ass crack showing and who smells like corn chips.

No, it's the other way around. A flat but undefined stomach on a woman is the same as a six pack on a man in terms of physical shape. It's easier for guys to have visible ab muscles given their naturally lower body fat.
Flgirl44
I've thought about it in the sense of fantasy. Like old men/fat guys/ugly guys sleeping with hot girls but I don't think I could do it in real life.

I was looking for a picture to show you, but through searching for one I actually found an article (and a picture) which says women are supposed to prefer a beer belly, http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2571743/Beer-gut-is-a-turn-on-for-women.html

It says they do not prefer feminized men who, impliedly, are obsessed with their appearance. There is a BIG difference between a woman saying she doesn't like metros and saying she actually likes a beer belly.
sanskrit
It's easier for guys to have visible ab muscles given their naturally lower body fat. Sorry, simply not the case, because if there is fat on a man of any percentage, it is generally carried around the core, and that fat will come off dead last after the entire rest of the body is lean. Or rather tell me how many men you've ever seen with a flat stomach, yet flabby arms and thighs? None. How many women do you know with flat stomachs, yet significant fat on the arms, butt and thighs? Many. Defined abdominals are an extreme labor for men, not so for women, who tend to lose fat off the stomach and breasts first and the thighs and butt last. Don't mean to make this a peeing contest over who has it harder in the gym, as fat on the thighs and butt is nowhere near the problem area for men as for women. Thigh/butt fat -melts- off a man first, just as stomach fat -melts- off the average woman first. Now is it possible that testosterone and the amount of -heavy- resistance training in the routine makes a difference in the -size- of the abdominal muscles between men and women? Absolutely. Definition of itself though? No contest, women generally have it easier achieving defined abs.

It was a conclusion drawn from the statement that 8/10 women don't like pretty shaved boys who bleach their hair, and 1/10 wouldn't mind man boobs. The "article" was obviously written by a dude lugging a beer belly of his own.

sanskrit
Don't know if the Sun is a good source, that article could have been across the page from an alien abduction article The picture in the article is of a significantly, if not morbidly obese man, don't know if that's what most people think of as a "beer belly," maybe it is. When I think beer belly, I don't think morbidly obese with moobs and giant gut, but a guy in average shape with an extra layer of fat around the core.
nyc_guy2003
I'm a guy and even I don't like to see beer bellies. I won't even look at any p0rn that involves a fat guy whose gut hangs over a woman's @ss while they're doing d0ggystyle.
Eeyore79
I don't mind a beer belly on a man. I wouldn't say I specifically desire a beer belly, it just doesn't bother me if a man I like has one. As long as it isn't actually from drinking too much beer (I don't want to date a drunk), and as long as he isn't generally obese, then a bit of flab on the tummy doesn't really bother me. I'm not perfect myself so I don't expect my man to be either.
Author Ross MwcFan
I wanted to add to my last post... Fact is, you said it DOESN'T say women prefer beer bellies. Yet it actually DOES say that they do. Whether the headline or article is right or wrong, it doesn't have anything to do with the argument.
Star Gazer
The Sun is hardly a credible source, Ross. There's not even an author, just a report of survey of 5,000 women who eat ice cream bars, with the results of what they actually said extrapolated into something they didn't say. The article's TITLE says it, but the WOMEN didn't say that. As for what is a beer belly: Second and fourth guys have beer bellies: http://utrashed.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/Beer-Belly-Beer-Gut-pic-12.jpg First and second guys have beer bellies, not so sure about the third (he seems more like he's pushing out his pelvis to make his abdominal region stick out): http://media1.break.com/dnet/media/2010/1/45%20Beer%20Belly%20Competition.jpg A beer belly: http://images.inmagine.com/img/uppercutrf/ucsi016/ucsi016387.jpg Just a fat guy (no beer belly): http://blog.itechtalk.com/wp-content/2009/03/beer-belly-3.jpg
