carla
You can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, you just can't pick your friends nose. I heard once that tears are the same bodily byproduct as urine. Think of that the next time you wipe your tears or someone elses with your hand. Yuck.
dyermaker
Yeah, I read that when children pick their nose and eat it, it's not just curiosity, it's instinctual, you get immunities to local airborne sicknesses.

Author tattoomytoe
Picking your nose and eating it is one of the best ways to stay healthy, according to a top Austrian doctor. Innsbruck-based lung specialist Prof Dr Friedrich Bischinger said people who pick their noses with their fingers were healthy, happier and probably better in tune with their bodies. He says society should adopt a new approach to nose-picking and encourage children to take it up. Dr Bischinger said: "With the finger you can get to places you just can't reach with a handkerchief, keeping your nose far cleaner. "And eating the dry remains of what you pull out is a great way of strengthening the body's immune system. "Medically it makes great sense and is a perfectly natural thing to do. In terms of the immune system the nose is a filter in which a great deal of bacteria are collected, and when this mixture arrives in the intestines it works just like a medicine. "Modern medicine is constantly trying to do the same thing through far more complicated methods, people who pick their nose and eat it get a natural boost to their immune system for free." He pointed out that children happily pick their noses, yet by the time they have become adults they have stopped under pressure from a society that has branded it disgusting and anti social. He said: "I would recommend a new approach where children are encouraged to pick their nose. It is a completely natural response and medically a good idea as well." And he pointed out that if anyone was really worried about what their neighbour was thinking, they could still enjoy picking their nose in private if they still wanted to get the benefits it offered. Pookette
What a great topic to read when one has the flu and is feeling sick already. This is kind of on the topic... I read that kids now are being bombarded with antibacterial this and that. New germs are coming along that kids have no antibodies against because they have not been in contact with regular ol' germs to begin with. The kids (and adults and whoever) are getting sicker than they would have if they had been in contact with germs all along.

I read once of the error in how people are quick to kill any fever when actually it's the low grade fever which kills the infections. That made sense to me too. Hope you get to feeling better Pookette!!!!!

faux
Everyone seems to be reacting so strangely to booger eating. I thought that everyone did this. I have a wonderful recipe for mucus pudding. If you add in the right ingredients, along with a healthy serving of boogers, it really does taste quite good and build up your immune system! I'm joking. I do the halfway polite "tissue picking", where I use a tissue to dislodge icky things that cling inside of my nostrils. So far as eating goes, however, I've never done this and I do not think that I ever could. Then again, I have eaten at fast food places before.... Maybe something extra got slipped into my food before?
longlegzs80
THis is somewhat of an amusing thread. My mother always told me that if you pick your nose, your picking your brain. . Just thought that was funny.
