DreamerGirl27
It's so amazing that you can see my future husband now. You know him. You love him. Lord, since you know the man You have designed for me, I pray that any other relationship will be unappealing to him. I pray that if he's giving away a part of his heart, his emotions, or his body, You will show him Your better way. Most of all I pray he'll be a God Lover. Not only do I ask that you distract and keep him from other, harmful relationships but also that You draw him closer to You. May his heart be so full of You that he doesn't need anything, anyone else...until the time You appoint to bring me into his life. And for every day of his life, hold him in the palm of Your hand. Amen.

Disillusioned
DS27, Instead of wasting your energy by typing prayers to Jesus (after all, he's been dead for 2,000 years and English wasn't even invented yet), you should be doing what I did... check out realdoll dot com and see if you like any of the male ones they offer. skydiveaddict
For you Dreamergirl: I know in time you will find your man. In the meantime, don't obsess over it. Go have fun in life, do the things you can while you are young. Test your limits and your fears. Never look back. You will make many new friends and meet the man that is meant for you. "Lord, You said that it is not good for us to be alone. You made us for each other. But Lord, I find it so hard to find that mate who would be a good spouse. Help me, Lord, to put this yearning for marriage in its proper place. Lead me, Lord, to the one whom You choose for my spouse. While I wait for You to reveal Your Will in this matter, help me to know myself better. Help me to address those areas of my life which are disordered and which would interfere with my having a successful marriage. When my desire to find a spouse becomes all consuming, help me to relax and practice patience. Help me to invest in wholesome friendships which bring me closer to You and which will assist me in making such an important decision. It is so natural, Lord, to seek love. Teach me to seek You first and to learn to give love before I try to receive it. Help me to remember that whatever journey this life leads me on, You are always present, always offering companionship, and always filling my deepest need. I offer You, Lord, my loneliness and my longing for marriage. I wait for You to lead me to Your perfect Will for me in this and all things. Amen." You do know there is no reliable proof Jesus exists and Nazareth didn't come into being until after he supposedly died. Please tell me that you do not believe this. There is as much testimonial evidence from religious and no-religious historians to certainly indicate that Jesus of Nazareth lived. Whether he was the Messiah and Savior is a different issue.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historicity_of_Jesus I don't think that a discussion of Jesus was the intent of this thread though. fortyninethousand322
You do know there is no reliable proof Jesus exists and Nazareth didn't come into being until after he supposedly died. In other words, there was no Jesus of Nazareth and any man like him ever being alive is doubtable. That's why it is called the Christian mythos or Christian Mythology. It isn't any more factual than Greek, Egyptian, or Norse mythology but it is much more dull. I love how some people who aren't religious take this disdainful view of religion. As if all religious people are naive and gullible and need to be "informed" on the historical accuracy of their faith. Believe or don't believe, no need to proselytize or be condescending. Disillusioned
Eventually she'll get over it. She'll learn to hate men and only after she wants nothing to do with them will they take an interest in her. Hey, it's how women treated me...

From your very own link to a wiki, The evidence for the existence of Jesus all comes from after his lifetime. I'm sure there where hundreds if not thousands of dudes named Jesus a that time. And I bet several of them had mothers named Mary. Maybe even one or two of them started a cult. Who cares. No one has ever walked on water or been born of a virgin.

Correct; This was not meant to invoke a conversation about Jesus. It was put in "In Search Of" because this is what I am in search of.

Dust
To whoever posted who does not believe. You're breathing aren't you? That in and of itself is a miracle. I feel like some people pray to God as though he were a genie created to grant their any wish. Maybe God will ruin your life like he did Job’s to re-prove a point to Satan. otherfish
DG27, you continue to pray to our GOD! It is such a shame that some out there are not able to see trees, fish, clouds, grass, stars, sun, moon, humans, etc. and realize the miracle of all of these. They dont understand that Christianity is about faith, believing in something that one cannot physically see or touch BECAUSE if GOD Himself came down from the clouds and revealed His true self....WELL THEN OF COURSE PEOPLE WOULD BELIEVE! (actually, some fools would probably still not believe) but its about faith, faith in believing GOD is exactly who He said He is and will accomplish exactly what He said He will accomplish without the luxury of being able to see Him in human form. So many out there are unable to step outside the parameters of their human mind and elevate to the spiritual mind. Of course, you can only do this if you have received the Holy Spirit and those of us that have accepted the plan of salvation have received the Holy Spirit. You see, not one of us walking this earth had anything to do with being on this earth right now. NONE of us decided when we would be born.....WE had NOTHING to do with it. So, if we are somewhat intelligent we can admit that in order for something to be created there must be a CREATOR...GOD. Unbelievers will try to throw "facts" about and attempt to disprove Christianity but all you have to do is look around you and it is EVERYWHERE.....PROOF! **While a Pastor was having a conversation with an unbeliever about Heaven and Hell, the Pastor told the unbeliever, "If you are right I have lost nothing BUT if I am right YOU have lost everything."..... PRAY ON....GIRL!

Dust
**While a Pastor was having a conversation with an unbeliever about Heaven and Hell, the Pastor told the unbeliever, "If you are right I have lost nothing BUT if I am right YOU have lost everything."..... What if the unbeliever has an equally ridiculous religion that believes you are missing out on their heaven and going to their hell? I mean other religions do exist so that argument fails there. Not to mention reward and punishment have nothing to do with faith. Not only do I gaze upon the material world you describe with child-like wonder and amazement, but I also appreciate the "miracles" of MRSA and Dermatobia hominis, hemochromatosis and sickle-cell enemia. You’ll get one of two answers usually. People who get sick brought it upon themselves, or god has a plan not that we mortals can ever hope to understand his mysterious ways. I'm sure there where hundreds if not thousands of dudes named Jesus a that time. And I bet several of them had mothers named Mary. Maybe even one or two of them started a cult. Who cares. Actually, it is slightly different than the first answer. Each individual did not bring it upon him or herself, but because of man, sin entered the world. And all imperfections are a result of sin. And while those diseases harm man, that does not detract from how interesting and fascinating it is to observe their mechanisms. Our God is truly an awesome God! And is your god my God? It doesn't sound like it.
