Now in some of the photo's... it looks like my ex is still wearing her engagement ring? Now why would she still wear the ring i gave her, after breaking up with me? Link to post Share on other sites
Pikachu Posted May 30, 2011 Share Posted May 30, 2011 Sounds like my exe. After she broke my heart I was in shock, going through the please dont begging phase, when I brought up our rings. She said she would continue to wear her ring even though we werent together anymore cause the time we spent together still meant something to her. Because I was i denial of the situation I did the same for around a month until I couldnt stand looking at it anymore. I wish in a way she would have just taken the ring off cause now I do find myself wondering if she is still wearing it today. Even though I know I shouldnt be thinking about it at all. But she was divorced...took off her wedding ring, but kept the engagement ring on as it is such a beautiful piece of jewellery. If the ring you gave her is an engagement ring (but you didn't marry), you are legally entitled to ask for it in return. you know that, don't you? An engagement ring is a promissory item, given under condition that the contract of marriage is fulfilled. Once it was the case that a woman would be given a ring, and if the engagement was halted or ended, she could keep the ring as a means of raising funds with which to support herself, given that women, once, were not members of the workplace. Since emancipation and equality, this no longer applies, and the ring is deemed to be a contract sealer. If the contract is broken, then the man is entitled to have the ring returned to him.
