I want to exercise but

I don't want to lose weight. I need to maintain the weight I have.

 

I want a cardio workout instead of a weight-lifting workout.

 

I tried running but I was losing weight. I feel like a bum and want to do something exercise related to help stay healthy and I'm not very creative in this department

 

any suggestions?

Choose the exercise of your choice (walking, running, swimming, biking, etc.). Calculate how many calories the activity burns in the time you engage in the exercise.

 

Then, when you're done, eat an extra snack or meal with that many calories. Just make sure it's a healthy food (a protein shake, avocado and salmon salad, a banana with nuts, etc.). Basically, add a snack or a meal to what you're already eating. A shake might be the easiest to consume after a workout, and can pack as many calories as you care to put into it (you can choose among high-calorie items such as protein powder, yogurt, avocodo or other high-calorie items, as well as water, milk, fruit, etc. to get the right calorie count).

 

It doesn't take much to get a snack up to 300-500 calories, which is about how much you burn in a standard exercise in 30-60 minutes.

 

If that doesn't appeal to you for some reason, then choose a low-intensity, low-calorie-burning exercise like walking or light bike riding. OR do short-term cardio exercise, like ten minutes of jumping rope. You don't burn as many calories overall, but you still get the benefits if you exercise at high intensity.

 

I think any of these choices would help you maintain your weight, while keeping your cardiovascular system healthy with cardio exercise. However, other than these choices--replacing the calories you burn, choosing a lower-calorie-burning activity, or exercising for shorter lengths of time--I don't think you have any other cardio options when it comes to exercising if you want to maintain your weight.

if you burn more calories than you consume you will loose weight. Its as simple as that.
