I'm a very accepting, open person so nobody has to lie to me but people have. And you're so right. We're not stupid. We get to know and understand our men well enough that it becomes obvious when they're trying to prevaricate but they still do it. I suppose if someone has shown a trend to lose it on finding out the truth, that might scare some guy into being afraid to be truthful, but if that's not the case, why lie? Start another thread about wanting to know why women lie, because why women lie might be somewhat different as to why MEN lie. That is the subject at hand here, why MEN lie. MANY of who post on LS and have also banged their head against a wall screaming 'WHY???'. Everyone lies at one point or another to a person in their 'love related' life. You are right...it's painful because you want, with all which is within you, to be able to trust that person. Sometimes there are valid reasons for the lies and sometimes there aren't. Why say you're in the mood to get out with the guys, say you're working os Saturday. Why say you got the SMS and felt like sleeping away or just didn't feel like answering, say it's broken or somethin' and you got it in the morning. So stupid... I don't mean big lies. Is it soooo dificult to tell your woman you don't feel like doing, saying, breathing that you go with lying? Actually, we're talking about "white lies" or at least "light grey" lies, not really evil lies that are designed to hide our darkest side. So I'll try to answer quite candidly ladies: We may lie because your constant hounding search for knowing every detail of our every activity is irritating, annoying, and has driven us to the brink of sanity, where we feel irrationally compelled to lie, YES! We're not. You think a priori we are "iritating, annoying," you're not even looking to check. I mean beacause of your lazy butts and "leave me alone and let me drink my beer in peace, woman!" attitude you risk to loose everything. I am so... I don't know, dissapointed by this. I would have understood, had I been a nagging,selfish woman. At least I had something to show for. But you just try this "new" attitude on and the only reasonable thing for me to do is... leave. If he actually says anything within this 'attitude range' on a date...there's a good indication he doesn't care or feels there is no risk. You can enable him or you can walk.
