hurtingandconfused
You sound like me when my ex broke up with me. I want to get another kitty but my father doesnt want any more pets but I feel like I need one. Talk him into it. The new one will be better and love you more. He will replace those bad memories. Thinkalot
It takes a long time sometimes Patty...even now, years after I lost a dog, I still sometimes get sad when I see her pic. It's natural. But it will get easier as you go along.

longlegzs80
I can relate to you, because my dog was hit by a car afew weeks ago. And I think about her alot and miss my friend. But, you have your time to grieve and sometimes people who have pets that are so close can't get over something like that. I know I still think about my dog and it is very lonely, but it is something that you will never forget, but you will go on in life just like any other day and make the best of it. Its hard, but keep your chin up and understand that all of us pet lovers go through it. So, you take care of yourself and try to stay busy so you don't have time to think about it. carla
I don't care what anyone with kids say but having a pet (for us non children people) is like having a baby, and when you lose one it is devastating. I know how you feel Patty I lost 1 cat that I had for about 10 years about 3 1/2 years ago. I then got another one and he got hit by a car 1 1/2 years later. I then adopted 2 more. My 3 cats are my babies. If your father insists on not having another cat, try volunteering at the animal shelter where you live. No matter where you are animal shelters are always looking for help. Where I live they have ads in the paper looking for people to be cat cuddlers. When I lost my cats both times I went in with treats and spent an hour with the cats. Ended up coming out with a new fur coat. I tried to spend my time equally with each cat, which in an hour is only about a minute each. It made me feel better that I brought a little happiness to a homeless kitty. The warning is you will probably end up bringing one home wheather your father wants one or not. But once he sees it and you give that poor pathetic childlike whiny voice about the poor cat not having a home and being so lonely and unloved, I'm sure your father will give in and you will have a new friend. Pookette
I regret not having many pictures of my cat. I only have a few of when he was a kitten. When my ex and I broke up, I moved back in with my parents and because my mother is deathly allergic to cats, I had to keep Peanut in the garage. He ran away. My husband is a cat lover too but we won't get any more until we get a house.
