splate24
Hello all I am a 34 year old gay male. I am currently writing a book about being addicted to a person and about addiction to prescribed medicine. I was involved with someone for over 8 years, and as I became more addicted to him, I also suffered from his addictions: sex addiction, him stealing prescription narcotics, pot addiction, lying... I have taken him back a couple of times but been single for almost four years. My book is near 200 pages and 117,000 words as of now. I was wondering if anyone had any of their own personal stories they would like to share and have included in my novel. I would like a section of the novel to include other peoples own, very real personal experiences besides my own entire eight year relationship with him and everything that happened in it. If so, I would greatly love to hear from you. Thanks a lot!
2sunny
i'm sure it's been a crazy experience for you... as the prescription meds world/abuse is quite a ride to be on. the bottom line being - you are never dealing with the "true nature /beauty of that person" while they are using. it's their "altered" state you become used to - and with that altered state comes craziness. i bet reacting and over reacting was the norm for you eh? yes, i have much experience in this area... i have helped many of them to become recovered... and i do know this - recovery isn't possible when they are blocked by the alcohol/drugs... it's just impossible to reach them... the active disease takes away the conscience... shrivels it up like a raisin - and takes time and solid work to regain that sense of what may be right/wrong for each individual...
