Taucher
Hello everyone, I havent been on here for a while. I guess that is because I feel happy with our relationship and being married has made everything official. We still speak every day fo hours. So, I got married to my SO in April. It was amazing. 100+ guests and some friends and family mnaged to come all the way to Colombia for it. My SO's family were amazing and I miss them and I miss Colombia. So my wife had her visa appointment at the British Embassy in Bogota last week. We are waiting to hear back. We gathered hundred of documents. If she gets her visa, she will be in the UK in August (hopefully) if not; who knows. I am feeling quite anxious about this. I need her with me! My life is on hold. T
northstar1
Taucher - I've been out of touch with the LS boards the past year or so and didn't even know you married or had a SO! Congrats man, that's great news.
JadedAmore
I'm pretty clueless about your situation, I'm still a newb. Congrats though, that is great news! I hope the Visa is approved soon so you can have your happily ever after.
Zoya
Taucher Have you been on Visajourney.com, I emigrated from Ireland on a K-1 visa in 2005 to be with my husband here in the US. I understand how difficult the waiting is. It is esp hard when you are so close to the end. Check out Visajourney for other couples in Colombia and see what wait times are for visas being processed out of that embassy. Good luck and I hope you and your wife are together again very soon. aerogurl87
I agree with Zoya. Join an immigration forum of some kind and it will definitely help with the wait. My boyfriend and I are waiting it out till we can apply for me to permanently move to Canada, just here temporarily at the moment, and being part of a forum where everyone else is going through the same thing is a big help. By the way congrats on getting married.
Author Taucher
Taucher - I've been out of touch with the LS boards the past year or so and didn't even know you married or had a SO! Congrats man, that's great news. Hey Northstar! I remember from the break up forum! It was the same old story, the break up that got me to this site and that I was so devastated about actually turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened. I avoided getting married to my ex for 5 years and then I meet a new girl and we get married a year later! Hope everything is ok with you too! Thanks for the advice everyone. I did goto a forum, immigration forums. It was a great help although in some ways it complicated things. Applying for a visa is not a science, it seems, and you can take any approach to prove your relationship and finances but people on the forum had massive, impossible lists of what is needed. But the support was invaluable, like on here. T
