just a question

maybe this sounds completely absurd, idk. but i was with this guy for a year, he was close to my idea of perfection. good morals, extremely intelligent, healthy body and lifestyle, emotionally stable, level headed, knows what he wants, caring, reasonable and the list goes on. all his friends had nothing but good things to say about him, as well as all the girls wanted to be with him.

the question is, will i ever look past this and allow myself to date other people without comparing them to this guy in all of these ways? it feels like nobody will ever fit these standards because it's so rare to fine and i really wouldn't want to settle for less. will i meet better?

You lived before he came along and you'll live after him. The fact is, you have that emotional bond, that attachment and until those feelings have gone you will only ever be able to see his good side. Those bonds will break over time, but the journey won't be easy though.

We all put our ex's on a pedestal and it's so difficult to get them off it afterwards. You will move on and you will meet someone new, and then you'll be able to look back at this and still remember the good points, but you won't mind it's over.

Wow, sounds like a tough act to follow. I'm glad I wont be one of the poor saps who's in your immediate future, :)

So why did you dump him? You couldn't get the stains out of his cape?

He must have had 1 fault? come on, I won't tell anyone. :) He wouldn't stop wearing your clothes right?

He has one major flaw you're overlooking. He was stupid enough to dump you.

Stop putting that man on a pedestal! =P
