My shoulder damaged during sleep. now what?

Recommended Posts

my good shoulder(cause the other one had a rotator cuff injury) is been hurting the last couple of days when i wake up from sleep.

It feels stiff and painful as if i had been sprained.

And really i haven't done any strenous pulling etc during daytime. Theonly thing i did was do curls with 10 pound weights.

(Maybe my shoulders are tooweak even for that)

anyways so my shoulder may be torn i guesss. NOw what?

that sucks, got hurt in my sleep

Aw man, it suck but it happens. Have you considered seeing an osteopath or a sports massage therapist? They may be able to help you.

I also recommend some form of posture-enhancing exercise, such as yoga, tai-chi or pilates, but I recommend that for everyone whatever condition they're in!

Hi i'm back.

went to the doctor.

He said i dont have anything major with my shoulder.

But i'm guessing he just said that because after i said i don't have money for MRI, he just said just try the physical therapy with a resistance band.

SO i will do that.

The funny thing is, i was in terrible cramping pain but when it came time to showhim that i had terible cramping pain, the motions he told me to do didn't cause much pain. So he thought i didn't have much pain.

I'm so stupid, i shoul've spent more time trying to reproduce the pain.

I guess i was feeling rushed so i didn't have time.

Anyways, i will do my home therapy exercises. good luck to me ;)

Thanks all.

Well tonight like every night, wake up 2 hours later after goig to bed at 11:30pm, and unbearable pain and can't move my shoulder at all. but i tried to(although difficult) to sleep and had a little night sleep. woke up. i had pain but then i got up and now for some reason, although painful still, i can lift my arm all the way up. Yesterday and the days before and even at night yesterday i couldn't even move. now all of asudden i can more.

So maybe it is a inpinged nerve and it somehow got released today in the morning. Note that i've been in unbearable pain and couldn't move for the whole past week

That's interesting. now i can lift my arm, there's pain but i can go throught it and then lift my arm all the way up. wooooooow.

i couldn't even lift it not even a tiny inch and it would hurt so bad.

I had that once - turned out I had a broken collar bone. The bone set eventually and is okay now.

Feelin Frisky

I have been suffering with pain in my left shoulder for months and thought I might need surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff. But I realized that the the chair I was relaxing in with high arms on it and me laying my arm across the window sill in my car causing the same elevation of the arm were contributing to causing this awkward strain. So I went out an bought a nice recliner with low arms and have been trying not to prop my arm up on the the window sill area when driving and low and behold, I've gotten very much better. I couldn't even sleep on my stomach facing right with my arm under my head but now I can again and no surgery was necessary. (Coincidentally though I had surgery today on my left elbow for something else unrelated. It's sore and swollen. Got to deal for a few weeks). Try checking how your arm rests when you're lounging or driving. You may be causing a mild strain like I was which progressed into out right pain.
