According to the BMI chart I am overweight. Lol. Here is a pic of me. How overweight am I? http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/703/chrispics006.jpg/

Exactly. My ex was 6'3'' and 230, and wasn't overweight at all. Those charts really are meaningless. Some of us are carrying around more muscle than others.

SG, I think your body is great. Dunno how anyone can consider that size obese or large. They're clearly blind.

Well, that's my point. No one in person has ever suggested that I'm overweight or large. It's posters here who have, without seeing pictures, based strictly on numbers. They have either told me directly that I am, or have said to someone else with the same numbers that they are.

And...thanks. :o

5'8

170 (athletic 170 though, cuz pretty sure that's overweight by BMI chart)

31/32 waist

A relative of mine is around 5' 10" 210 pound guy who has been into weight lifting for more than 25 years & he does not appear to have an once of fat. I am around 5' 9" & 170 look very skinny much under 165. I would think it depends on your build & body image. I usually rely on my doctor & she tells me I'm at a good weight so that's good enough for me :)

I'm 5'4'' and vacilate between the high 140s and low 150s. I workout regularly, and I wear a size 8 in pants. It makes me laugh when posters here suggest someone my size must be obese, large or unattractively overweight. I might not be thin and would feel a little more comfortable 10 pounds lighter, but I'm by no means fat.

I've put some links to pictures which show my figure in my signature.

It really depends on how someone carries their weight. You carry yours very well, so you look great! But I've seen others at your height/weight/age, and they just..don't carry it well, and could be described as "fat" since that's all they have on them..pure fat, no muscle or "good" curves.

123 lbs (trying to stay in the 120-125 range)

Size 4-6

I love my size and the way I look. Wouldn't change it for the world. ;)

I think lots of fat and overweight people underestimate their weight when telling others, either intentionally out of embarrassment or because they haven't gotten on a scale in a lonnnng time and are estimating. So someone in your office or school who might tell you they weigh the same as I do, who you think *is* overweight or fat, is probably not being totally honest or accurate.

I'm 36

Six feet tall

Honestly, I'm not sure what I weigh now. I battled some eating disorders when I was younger, at my skinniest I was 110, and at my fattest I was 230, so I have run the gamut. Now I'm somewhere in the middle of that, I usually wear a size 12 Tall/Long or sometimes a 14, and I'm cool with it. I don't weigh myself because I don't want to get trapped into even thinking about that BS too much. I have big boobs and a big butt and I get a good amount of regular outdoor exercise. People most regularly refer to me as Amazonian rather than fat or thin.

There are some sad, angry people on these boards and as they say, misery loves company. Don't let them make you permanent companions.

Eh, if you're packing a lot of muscle, this is true, but for most people they are fairly accurate.

45

5'6"

125 - 128 pounds

Size 2 <----- This is a result of vanity sizing. I was a size 9 in high school when I weighed less than I do now. I figure that pretty soon slim people will have to become nudists because there will be no clothing left!

You may be right; as Jack Nicolson's character, Colon Jessep said, in 'A few good men'; 'You can't handle the truth'. might be more accurate. If people do not like something they will often dismiss it before giving it it's due consideration. The same is true if we like something; we will often eccept it without giving it much consideration. It's why we sometimes resemble lemming or sheep I think. Now you may disagree with this assessment & dismiss it or like it & simply except it but will you consider it :)

Cute. :)

I will consider and elaborate. I don't particularly like or dislike BMI, but I think it can be a useful tool. Like all tools, much of its effectiveness is in the skill of the person using it.

Personally, I find the mirror is the best gauge of appearance.
