TaintedHeart
I suffer from depression and I find it hard to cope with change ect The break up has had a huge impact on my health, my doctor has put me on a higher dosage anti-depressants, I'm not eating or sleeping and my blood pressure is low. My family think I need to see someone but what do I say to my doctor? 'millions of people break up but I just can't cope'? You see? Sounds stupid! Has anybody here had counseling ect? brokendreamz
I have just posted a thread called 'A message of hope' over on the break up forum - I was in your place 6 months ago, please take a moment to read it. My doctor was very good to me and suggested that proper heartbreak should be seen as an illness so please don't feel silly about going to see him. I went down the counselling route and I am in a very different place to where I was 6 months ago.
Author TaintedHeart
My doctor isn't very understanding and just keeps sending me away with sleeping pills and telling me that I will get over it. I can't find your thread? :/
brokendreamz
It's under 'A message of hope' on the Breakup forum... It's about 5 down - aorry, don't know how to do a link. Your Doc has obviously never been through a bad break up, see if you can get another.
RuinedLife
Firstly, here is the link for brokendreamz 'A message of hope' thread Secondly, I'm so sorry to hear you are struggling with such horrible heartbreak and depression also. I've been struggling with my heartbreak and depression for nearly 6 months now, and although medication has helps I still struggle a lot. But the people on this forum have been very supportive and it is comforting to know that we can all come here to help each other through these tough times. If your doctor is not talking your depression seriously, then I suggest you try to find a more sympathetic doctor if that is possible, as there are ones which are more understanding. My depression and anxiety has been really bad since my break up and now I take pregabalin for my anxiety, trazodone for the depression and to help me sleep and diazepam when I have really bad anxiety attacks. I really am so sorry to hear you are going through this heartbreak hell too. But please keep posting here. And we'll all try and help each other through this best we can.
