tigressA
I admit, I'm fascinated by modern royalty. I read every article I come across on the newly wed Will and Kate. Another royal wedding that happened less than two weeks ago but hasn't really received as much attention as the one in Britain was between Monaco's Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock, a former Olympic swimmer from South Africa. The reports coming out about them have been the opposite of happy and bright. There are rumors that Charlene tried to bolt three separate times for her family's home in the last days before the wedding. During the wedding it was said she looked "miserable" (she was in tears through a good bit of it). On their honeymoon in South Africa, they were in separate hotels 10 miles away. Apparently this all is caused by Charlene's demand for a paternity test as there are rumors of a third out-of-wedlock child fathered by Albert during their courtship (he has two others). Monaco is desperate for a legitimate heir, and the longtime bachelor prince finally got a brood mare, I think. I see it as a very traditional royal marriage--the woman gets a lavish lifestyle and a title, while the prince gets a legitimate heir for the throne. Very little love involved, if any at all. http://abcnews.go.com/International/prince-albert-monaco-charlene-wittstock-slept-honeymoon-palace/story?id=14061328 http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/royal-honeymoon-monacos-prince-albert-charlene-wittstock/story?id=14026957 http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/royal-wedding-prince-albert-monaco-wed-charlene-wittstock/story?id=13952552
