thelovingkind
Don't worry, it does come right. But it can take ages. Me and my ex used to listen to pop/dance house remixes whenever we were driving, and that along with the fact that the music is just generally euphoric meant I couldn't listen to it for a long time post-break up. I genuinely believed I would never enjoy this music again. But I've just started listening to this style of music in the last couple days and I love getting back into it. I feel my enjoyment of it has actually increased because of my time away from it. This is actually some weeks after I last cried about my ex and after I've started dating again, though. So you can definitely expect to re-gain your interest in this music, but it might be quite far down the line, after you've moved on in almost every other way. I'm not sure what the reason for this is; I'm sure there's some psychological-memory-neural pathway type explanation for how sound creates stronger memories that are most resistant to moving past, or something. But give it time, and this passion will come back.
Author lifeispain
yeah, me and him used to always listen to certain types of music before going to bed and it made us want to get closer to each other. it makes me sad thinking that it wont be as pretty to me the next time i listen to it.
