This is another example of a famous, wealthy individual connected to someone not-so-famous or wealthy. I find it hard to believe it's REAL love. Does anyone have pictures of a much older, middle-class man with a much younger, middle class woman? Then it would be worth talking about. I've dated a woman 8-years my junior (but prefer within +-5 years) and none older (yet). I just can't consider going younger than 10 years and 5 older.

Divasu
Female models tend not to date their physical equals: Heidi Klum and Seal Rachel Hunter and Rod Stewart Paulina Porizkova and Ric Ocasek Marisa Miller And Griffin Guess Not significantly older men as in this case, but probably not considered physically appealing by most standards within our society either. jlola
Because the women aren't going after them either. I have no doubt they both could get young men wanting to **** them if they offered them money and other benefits. Madonna, Sharon Stone,Kirstey Alley,Ellen Barin,Lorraine Bracco,Janice Dickenson,Joan Collins, barbara Hershey,Ivanna Trump all involve themselves with young 20's men from time to time. There are more celebs. But I think most women are too embarrassed to go chasing after men young enough to be their grandson. Reality is, young men will sleep with older woman voluntarily. They may not marry her. But sexually they can "do the work". If an older halfway decent woman went into a local college hangout or bar and let a man know she was "available",she would get a lot of offers. Even by some good looking men. If an older halfway decent looking man tried the same, he would be ignored or complaint to manager about creepy old guy. Unless he had a pocketful of cash to offer or a really drunk girl. There re actually men who are attracted to grandma(not a thought I find appealing),this is why grandma porn is available. No young women is really sexually attracted to an old man unless he is unusually attractive or he has a BIG wallet.

Some males don't either. Viggo Mortenson, Pierece Brosnan,Hugh Jackman, and a lot of others. Also these models date men who are famous. No one is dating just an average Joe. The rich men date women who are not famous . Some have married nannies, waitresses, makeup artist. None of these women are marrying much older men who are working a job as a gopher or assistant . FitChick
I'm willing to bet a lot of those older men aren't having sexual intercourse because they are physically incapable. The women probably do other "naughty things" to earn their keep. Hey, if it works for both of them, who cares? This couple has been together for a few years and seem quite happy. He is rich, by the way.
123321
Two things Is it ok for a man to date an older lady? Have any men dated an older lady? I have. I've dated from +16 to -28ish, no age issues really.
Babolat
I have not read the entire thread so this may have already been discussed. How about a mid 40s male dating a 29 year old female? She likes older men, always has, I never knew how old she was, I assumed mid 30s. We are not dating, hanging out now as she has a bf she is on the fence on. Should that end though I am interested in seeing what happens.

To me, it indicates a preference for a dynamic that I want no part of. That, and I want a man who appreciates and is not afraid of women his own age... and can accept his own age as well. There are few things that are as unattractive (to me) as a man who is trying to recapture his youth by using up someone else's.... rather than dealing with his own aging process. On the other hand, if I'm dating younger women I don't guess any hangups older ladies might have are really an issue for me. I say let them work out their own issues. RedRobin
On the other hand, if I'm dating younger women I don't guess any hangups older ladies might have are really an issue for me. Provided guys with these preferences will forever be able to date younger women... I've come across many guys who have these preferences who find it tough to reel in the young'ins once they start to show their age or lose their money... then find out the women their own age don't want them either because these guys have never really honed their relationship skills with a peer... ... and for reasons I stated above. napy666
I am always talking to different people online and I've had a few guys and girls tell me that being age 17 or younger or even 18 that they have dated older people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and even 50s. WHY? Wouldn't that be weird? Like your 17 and your dating someone way older its like dating your parents or something.
todreaminblue
i dated a 40yr old when i was in my teens i didnt find it weird...i did start to feel controlled, but as far as relationship goes at the time, i didnt have interests that my peers had, i had more cultured tastes.......that bored them to tears basically, wasnt into just sex, so in that way the relationship was appropriate...i have always dated older guys than me but in saying that i was in a relationship fro most of my adult life.......my dating experience is actually limited..i have found older guys are more forthright with honesty and dont play games..or so i thought.....found out that isnt necessarily true which in turn turned me off dating altogether for quite a few years.....deb
acrosstheuniverse
I dated a 42 year old when I was 22 and it was freakin' awesome. We did have an open BDSM M/s relationship though. Not 100% sure how it would have worked out if we'd tried to do the whole monogamous, long-term thing. Wasn't weird at all for us.
napy666
I have yet to date an older guy. The guys I've dated were always my age or a few ages below or above me but just 1 or 2 if not 3 year differences haha.
MrCastle
I can't see people having a long lasting relationship with someone more than a decade older or younger than them.
RedRobin
I believe healthy people want to be with others who are moving through a similar period in life and have similar experiences. Young people like yourself are quite unconscious about their appeal... their freshness, vitality, and (usually) unjaded and optimistic viewpoint on the world. This is a wonderful quality to have!! I thoroughly enjoy working with people your age... It just shouldn't be twisted into something to be sexually exploited, which is my gripe with much older people hitting on younger people... nor should they trap them in relationships so that they can (ideally) be 'molded' into the partner of said older person's dreams. That is my observation. The much older person wants to take advantage of the much younger person's pliability. It's pretty heinous IME. It corrupts the trust that younger people should have with older people... that they are valuable people on their own, who deserve a life with their peers.
soccerrprp
Age DOES matter. I believe it becomes more apparent later in a relationship, but mostly, imho, it does matter. I'm with castle, 10+ years either way is too much in my opinion.
