dicky_fish
In a similar vein to the LS Crush thread, and following on from some people posting about Last of the Mohicans and The Princess Bride giving us ideals about true love; which character or characters do you currently feel like from fiction? Films, TV, books, etc. I'll get the ball rolling: Since my break up I've always felt like Aiden from Sex and the City (and in a pure twist of fate that story is currently on TV here in the UK). All I ever did was be there for my girlfriend, wanted the simple things and to build my dreams with her, and she just couldn't face up to that. Also feel like Neil in He's Just Not That Into You, I was more of a husband to my girlfriend than she ever realised (if only she'd do what Jennifer Aniston does towards the end of the film... we can but dream) Anyone else? worlybear
Mmmm currently? I feel like either Miranda..... or Mr (Mrs?) Bean! But I'm working on it!
wilsonx
Edmond Dantès - The Count of Monte Crisco I suggest everyone watch this movie and watch the transformation and the 3 stages he goes through from being naive ->to suffering -> to growing
thelovingkind
Feeling like Mirabelle Buttersfield from Shopgirl at the moment. Not that my grief was anywhere near as intense, but Colin Firth's character in A Single Man struck a chord with me early after the break-up with lines like "waking up begins with saying 'am' and 'now'." I really recommend it to anyone who has that totally alone in life feeling going on.
HeartOfAPhoenix
My ex dumped me, completely shattered my heart and killed me on the inside. Now I'm getting all of that back just like I'm being reborn in a sense... I'm a Phoenix.
ScienceGal
I know it's not a super popular movie, but I feel like Gwenyth Paltrow in Sliding Doors. It follows 2 paths of her life, one where she makes the train home and catches her boyfriend cheating, and one where she doesn't make the train and doesn't catch him in bed with the other woman. Not that I was cheated on... it just shows the quick break up path and the long drawn out path... but both show that the guy was a jerk. sigh.
