capitald
I just figured out what was bothering me about LoveShack. I think in a major sense what I was responding to frustratedly was the lack of positive messages (I am not talking about the responses or feedback which is often positive but the starter threads) and not the people. I mean people do mostly come on here when they are having trouble or they have a tough decision to make and don't usually come here to spread the news of how great their relationship is either because they want to keep their private matters private or they don't want to jinx their good fortune. But I thought of another reason as well. When we have a lover in our life and things are going well we don't have the time to do things like come here and share our viewpoints and tell people how great our life is going. When things are going good we are usually spending alot of time with and on our lover. It is only when we are pulling apart or having problems do we seek other outlets. This is not a criticism of LoveShack but just an acknowledgement of why we see what we see here and an acknowledgement of the way life is.

Sundaymorning
I think it would then become a "whos SO is better" contest.
zarathustra
Unhappy, bitter and disappointed people usually have more interesting stories to share. Reading some of their anguished posts is like watching a train wreck. Misery loves an audience. Or is it an audience loves misery? Perfection and happiness don't lend themselves to interesting posts. This is a community of the damned.
moimeme
Perfection and happiness don't lend themselves to interesting posts. I disagree. I love happy endings. I love reading Thinkalot's posts because she's telling a story of success. I think happiness is great; I'm all for it. It would be my wish to have every sad post end with happiness - and I'd never tire of reading them.
magda
Speak for yourselves! I'm in love and happy about it. I don't really need anyone's input on that... Besides, when people complain about their lives it's generally poor etiquette to follow up their tales of strife with "my life is wonderful! everything is working out SPECTACULARLy!!!" sportsloving
I would love to be able to post every day that my life is going well, my relationship has never been better, and the summer is on it's way... but that would get rather dull in telling day in and day out. The only way I can think to spice it up would be to also post my golf score for the day, LOL, but few would care to hear about that!
