I am considered disabled supposedly because of my autism. Since I had a terrible time finding a job, I was given the opportunity to get SSDI a year ago, so I took it. I am capable of taking care of myself, but I still have doubts that I will ever be in a relationship if I am considered legally disabled.

Yes, there are some women who are fine with this. It's generally hard for autistic people to have relationships because they miss many social cues, but if you find someone who is patient I don't see why this would be a problem.

I babysit a boy who is 12 and autistic, when he's with me he's the most normal kid around, except a genius and we have everything in common. I love spending time with him and wouldn't even consider him disabled, and while your life may be his future, I'm sure a woman out there would gladly date him.

You just have to find the right one. :)

What type of autism do you have? I mean, my neighbour has autism (PDD-NOS), but I would have never have guessed! He is very funny and very nice, but sometimes he doesnt read people that well. I know his wife (in my eyes) is a very pretty lady and very exepting of who he is. They have two daughters and they have autism aswell. The wife has severe migraine attacks and has a hernia, even with all of that going, I dont think she'd ever leave him!

I also know a girl thats authistic, however with her its much more obvious. Anyone who doesnt know her is able to tell she is 'mentaly disabled'. I think in her case it would be much more difficult to date, simply because she is not able of reading people at all! She has anger attacks aswell and a lot of other unpleasent characteristics.

The thing is autism is a term used for a group of dissorders. In theory, everyone should be able to find someone for them.

what are you good at doing? It's easy to meet people when you are with like-minded similar interests. If you are good at something that gives you something in common... it's a start...

Yes.

People with facial disfigurements, speech impediments, in wheelchairs, even morbidly obese people can get in relationships. There really is no such thing as undateable.
