Should i even care what my ex thinks about me?

I bump into my ex at college sometimes, not on purpose and its impossible to miss her as she would be standing in the middle of a narrow pathway and i have to semi-angle my body in order to get past her so there would be no excuse for not noticing her, but i still act as if i dont. I've done this a couple of times just because i think it would be awkward talking to her as i acted like a twat when she broke up with me - over a period of a few months i made it clear that i still liked her, but was pissed off at her for breaking me, this was demonstrated as a negative effective of consuming vast quantities of alcohol and i also dont want to open up old wounds. I mean bumping into her today has had me thinking about her for the rest of the day and brought me back to these forums, i wonder what i would actually be like if we had a conversation.

Anyway i always feel kind of bad after i do it, but i think at the back of my mind it is because i want her to know that im still the nice/sweet guy she always said i was and not some nobhead who is ignoring her out of spite. But should it REALLY matter what she thinks about me, i mean should i just continue doing what im doing as if we do become "friends" i may be setting myself up for dissapointment?

Hey Turok...I see three clear mistakes that you need to accept and learn from.

1. don't act like a twat when a girl, any girl, breaks up with you in the future. It's highly unattractive and sends a bad signal.

2. don't use alcohol to cope as it can lead to number 1.

3. You have to own your life, your space. allow me to explain...

When you walk down the hall, keep your chin up, shoulders back...walk with confidence and OWN YOUR SPACE. Don't let her know you miss her...even though it could be tearing you up inside. And believe me you don't need to remind her you are the nice guy. She understands you are hurt so you acted like a twat because you can't control your emotions...learn from this, it's huge.

To answer your question...no. It doesnt matter in the least bit what she thinks. Get over this type of mentality. In truth it makes no difference what anyone thinks. Just do what you want to do in life without thinking of what this person or that person thinks. I'm currently shifting my way of thinking as well before for a long time I would think "I don't want to do this because this person would hate it or this person would" but if you think that way you'll get none of the things you want in life.

Finally suggestion...no contact with the girl until you can get your emotions in check...if you see her, smile confidently/trade pleasantries and walk away (because you are so damn busy)...meet other people. take care buddy

Agreed entirely. I'm putting this into practice myself presently.
