AHardDaysNight
No apparently "guys with foreskin often grow fungus and get all kinds of nasty stuff under there"...:lmao::lmao: OP hope this has been helpful....:lmao: Ah, I thought that was just my science experiment! OP, you need to cut girls like this out of your life. Anybody who would make this a dealbreaker has issues.
OliveOyl
Yep. There is no logical reason for him to regret it. So if he does regret it, that means there are underlying psychological problems that need to be worked out with a therapist. No emotionally healthy man would regret a thing like that. There are many logical reasons that have been presented in this thread - by men both circumcised and uncircumcised; you are just choosing to ignore them. Seems like a ridiculous point to get hung up on. I mean, I have no way of knowing what my life would have been like if I'd gotten braces as a kid. I've always had crooked teeth, but maybe my life would be a million times better if I had straight teeth. I have no way of knowing, because my parents made that decision for me. Really, I should be mad at them! How dare they decide the fate of my teeth without my consent! For all I know, my crooked teeth have ruined my life! Not a good comparison. You can always choose to get braces and have straight teeth as an adult. It's not cosmetic. The sanitary reasons have been explained many times. I understand that uncut guys are capable of keeping themselves clean, but they are more prone to infection at the same time. They have to wash multiple times a day, which is not always possible for toddlers, elderly men, or disabled men. Cut guys simply don't run the same risk of infection. Another truth. This is malarkey. My son is disabled and uncircumcised... I don't bathe him every day anymore (he's a preteen) AND he's never had any fungus, infection, smell, anything! He's never had to wash multiple times a day; I'm not sure where you're coming up with that. There has been absolutely NO problem at all.
Cypress25
There are many logical reasons that have been presented in this thread - by men both circumcised and uncircumcised; you are just choosing to ignore them. I think we have different definitions of the word "logical." There are no advantages to having a foreskin. It doesn't make anything better. I know uncut guys want to convince themselves that they have some sort of advantage over cut guys, but they don't. They're just the same. Even the sensitivity argument is a moot point because cut guys enjoy sex just as much as uncut guys. If anything interfered with their enjoyment of sex, they would not hesitate to complain about it. Circumcision doesn't make sex any less enjoyable. And "It makes me feel like less of a man" is not logical. That's just sad. Not a good comparison. You can always choose to get braces and have straight teeth as an adult. And cut guys can always choose to have a prosthetic foreskin surgically attached if they really want it. Believe it or not, such a procedure does exist. Most guys don't do it because they're happy with their circumcised penis. And the guys who do it discover that it makes no difference. But if you want a more permanent example, I had the opportunity to get growth hormone treatment when I was 11 or 12 because I wasn't growing. My parents said no. It was expensive and unnecessary, and there was no guarantee it would work. Being a child, I had no say in the matter. So I'm short. Too late to do anything about it now. I don't like being short but I can put it in perspective. It doesn't ruin my life. In fact, it doesn't really affect my life one way or the other, except people think I'm a teenager and I have to hem all my pants. Would my life be better if I was tall? Probably not. Most guys are happy with what they've got. The uncut guys like being uncut, and the cut guys like being cut. They both probably think the other has a weird-looking penis. But in the end it doesn't matter because they've both got a healthy, fully functional penis that allows them to have an enjoyable, fulfilling sex life. Maybe the uncut guys have to struggle a bit with the condom, but they figure it out eventually. That's really the only difference in the way cut and uncut guys experience sex. I've never heard of a cut guy who didn't enjoy sex. That's the vast majority of men, and I'd say that's normal and healthy. What is not normal or healthy are the few guys who are unhappy about the foreskin, whether it's there or not. There are cut guys who wish they were uncut, and there are uncut guys who wish they were cut. This is a tiny minority of men, and it's not normal or reasonable to feel this way. The foreskin makes no difference. These are men who wouldn't be happy no matter what they had.
Cypress25
Criminalizing Circumcision: Self-Hatred As Public Policy The ballot box shouldn't be used to work out self-loathing. Published on June 2, 2011 by Marty Klein, PhD in Sexual Intelligence Full disclosure: I'm circumcised. Too much information? Tell that to the people--well-meaning or otherwise--who have actually created a ballot measure to criminalize circumcision in San Francisco. Yes, this fall, San Franciscans will vote on whether or not babies (and all minors) can be circumcised. In the wake of the ban's (unlikely) passage, one can imagine the surgical equivalent of speakeasies or underground abortion clinics to which families bring little Joshua, Omer, or Justin. In the law's hostility to Judaism, one recalls the 1492 Expulsion ordered by Spain's Ferdinand & Isabella. But hostility to religion is only one impetus for the bill; the psychological anguish of a small number of activists is the other. The main source of information about their emotional torment is contained in the bill's language: "It is unlawful to circumcise, excise, cut, or mutilate the whole or any part of the foreskin, testicles, or penis of another person who has not attained the age of 18 years." Equating the removal of an infant's foreskin with the "mutilation" of the testicles or penis is ignorance, willful distortion, or delusion. No one in the city has been accused of touching anyone's testicles or penis (Catholic priests notwithstanding). But lumping these together with the routine, nearly painless removal of foreskin--which has no impact on later physical function--shows just how theatrical the bill's sponsors are. They are acting out their own odd sense of bereavement with a grand display of concern for future generations. As a sex therapist for 31 years, I have talked with more men about their penises than you can shake a stick at. We've discussed concerns about size, shape, color, and the angle of the dangle. We've talked about the ability to give and receive pleasure. We've talked about the amount, color, taste, smell, and consistency of semen. We've talked about what women (and other men) supposedly like. And a small number of men have talked about how they feel about being circumcised or not circumcised. Invariably, anyone who talks about the issue is convinced that they'd be better off different than they are-the cut guys want to be uncut, and uncut guys want to be cut. Most of these thousands of patients were sane enough people who were over-concerned about their penises. Others were a bit less sane. And a few were intensely involved with their feelings to the point of ignoring science, logic, and the sworn statements of one or more lovers. That group includes the people behind the San Francisco proposal to ban circumcision. In 31 years of talking with men about circumcision, I have never met a man who felt damaged, mutilated, or emasculated by his circumcision who did not have other emotional problems. The pain they claim to remember from the brief procedure is impossible; the rejection from "all women" a childish overgeneralization; the sense of being incomplete a neurotic problem that has other sources. The United Nations recognizes the health benefits of circumcision; the World Health Organization is now promoting a huge circumcision campaign in southern Africa. Ironically, it's world-famous San Francisco urologist Ira Sharlip who's been asked to advise the project. Halfway around the world, the Phillipines recently offered free circumcisions for poor people, who lined up enthusiastically. Indeed, studies around the world show that circumcision reduces urinary and other infections, has no negative sexual effects, and is rarely dangerous when done using simple public health guidelines. There is absolutely no evidence that the sexual experiences of circumcised and uncircumcised men are different for them or their partners (outside of partners' simple personal taste, of course). As a therapist, I am sworn to empathize with the pain of every man, woman, and child in my office. I am also devoted to reducing suffering--by helping people understand the meaning behind their pain, the better to resolve and escape from it. As a citizen, my sworn concern is to keep emotion out of public policy, the better to enshrine science and enhance everyone's well-being. So I urge anyone feeling damaged by their circumcision to get as much therapy as necessary, as much good sex as possible--and to keep their self-admittedly damaged psyches away from public policy. Guys, pleasure and intimacy await--as soon as you make friends with your penis. The ballot box is not the place to work out your self-loathing. [These are not my words. Author Asics
Cypress25 your last post just made me shake my head in disbelief. Pretty much all your assertions about circumcision are completely erroneous. A "completely safe" procedure that causes no harm? LMAO, do some research. Here's a statistic that will shock you out of your ignorance: 117 deaths per annum occur in the United States as a direct result of circumcision. The number of botched circumcisions and complications that require further surgery is much higher. I'm not going to respond individually to each one of your fallacious arguments because quite frankly, I can't be bothered and I know I won't change your mind. There is a reason why no national medical organisation in the entire world recommends infant circumcision as a beneficial health measure. You're a culturally brainwashed, ignorant american woman who cannot be reasoned with. On a final note, I will say this: After all the research i've done (prompted by posters in this thread), there is no way i'm having a healthy part of my body amputated just because some stupid bytch has a preference for it. I won't be getting circumcised and if this woman has a problem with it then I will cut contact with her. Edited August 20, 2011 by Asics

Duckduckgoose
I personally find uncircumcised to be a turn-off, but its YOUR penis and YOUR life. She's making some high and mighty demands pretty early in the relationship telling you to go get circumcised. If I'd just started dating someone and they told me to get a boob job I'd show them the ****ing door. If they needed coaxing I'd make sure it hit their ass on the way out. She gets all of you or none of you.
