diamondette
my fiancee has PTSD (from War) and has been on anti depressants for 5 years, he has recently started coming off the meds so is going thru a bit of a bad time with the withdrawal effects making him feel dizzy and light headed and he also hates his job for various reasons and its doing my head in!!! i love him to bits and ive been soooo patient but its starting to wear thin, im not getting to the point that i want to give up on him but i am getting to the point where i want to get off the phone or not even answer it when he calls me. I normally love chatting to him and miss him on the days we dont see each other but now cos all he does is moan about his work or the withdrawal effects and has no interest in what i tell him, so much so that when im saying something important to me he goes "oh ok, anyway.... my manager is a **** or ive got a head ache blah blah blah" and dismisses what i say everytime. We havent had a conversation other than his job or the side effects in over two weeks!!!!! I cant put my feelings on hold much longer but i dont want to say anything to him incase he gets upset or whatever. any advice please? anyone felt this way before ?
Dorie
Excellent advice falling on deaf ears, being ignored so one can complain instead? You're in the right place! Does your SO have others to vent to? You may want to direct him there citing the difficulty you're experiencing. Make it clear you can lend a sympathetic ear but solutions should be the focus.
