Engadget
Why do women give a **** about shoes? Such a waste.
Lobster29
Why do women give a **** about shoes? Such a waste. I agree. I'm a woman and I only own about 3 pairs lol and handbags....I don't get why people spend so much on those either. Each to their own though.
AHardDaysNight
Women own shoes so they can kick people in the arse when they're angry.
giuliano-3
So I thought I'd step away from the coping/break-up forums for a bit, check out the dating forum. Shoes? Really? Thrown off a balcony? Hmm. I used to be angry at myself for not throwing all my ex's stuff in the dumpster instead of mailing it to her mom, now I'm realizing I should have been angry at myself for not selling her stuff on e-bay. Just looked up a few things she left behind. Ferragamo boots sell for 700 dollars? Dangit, that's almost rent. I had no idea until reading these posts about the cost of women's shoewear. Wow, sad. Western Civ is doomed.
AHardDaysNight
A funny thing. Women make 30% less than men, yet their shoes cost at least 30% more than men's. Hmm...wonder who's actually paying for the shoes? Ladies, your thoughts?
Woggle
No matter what their relationship was like or how absurdly expensive they are he still had no right to do that to her property.

And again, she's more concerned about the shoes, rather than her boyfriend. Perhaps she should go marry a shoe? Till the heel breaks do us part?

AHardDaysNight
They broke up so she has the right to get her stuff back. I'm not advocating what he did. It was selfish and petty of him to do. However, the OP isn't exactly rosy, either.

Star Gazer
No matter what their relationship was like or how absurdly expensive they are he still had no right to do that to her property. Do you honestly think he bucked a pair of pointy heels off a 19 story balcony? Or is it more reasonable to think he said that to upset her? FTR, Skiman still has a box of my stuff in his garage. I asked him about it several times a long time ago, and he wasn't really responsive. Now that he has a new GF, he's really eager to get my sh*t out of his house. Unfortunately, our schedules have been such that we haven't been in town/available at the same time since he brought it up about a month ago. He keeps saying he'd never do anything to my stuff and I'm trying now to get someone else to go get it while I'm out of town.

I have seen some stuff so it is a possibility. I once saw a guy peeing from a fire escape on to the people on the street so nothing surprises me. Also why am I getting Jimmy Choo ads on the side of this page?

When you're not home when they deliver it they'll drop a note in the mailbox saying you can pick it up at the nearest distribution point when you're home again. Can't be that expensive, unless the box is filled with lead bricks. Tell me you don't collect lead bricks.

It's a 2'x2'x2' box of law school books/treatises (I couldn't lift it myself when I left, hence why it's still there - he was originally opposed to bring it to me), as well as my weight set. That would cost more to ship than it's worth.
torn_curtain
I'm sorry this happened but it also made me chuckle a bit when I read the thread title. Your ex is increasingly sounding like a tragicomic hero with a flair for the histrionic. I agree with others that he probably made this up, like he probably made up the story about meeting another woman just to get your attention.

Star Gazer
Oh, her ex, I got you. For a moment there I thought you were describing someone else. My favorite part is how she just drops these bombshell threads and then casually leaves. Hello, ES? Are you still reading this? Hi! :lmao:

Jayhawkfl
Second of all: bummer, those shoes are expensive. I don't understand $400+ shoes, but still a bummer. Though I also wonder why you didn't get them when he was away. Forgot about them, I guess? Did anyone else read this and think about how many car payment they could make with those shoes, cause I can do a 3 car payment with your one pair of shoes, at there low end estimate....
