without Posted August 20, 2011 Share Posted August 20, 2011 I've been dating a guy for about 2 weeks,I wasn't sure i wanted to date him anymore... one day I was out and I got a call from a male friend that i have (online male friend) he asked where i was and he was around and he came to see me for the first time,its like 2/5 years we've been friends,"just friends",not through all years but still...anyways later that night he texted me and asked me if i wanted to be his gf..I never thought he asked me,I always thought we were just friends...I said I don't know and give me some time,after thinking I decided I didn't wanna date him...and I told him,he accepted. the thing is I have left behind some opportunities and friends because of my last partners and i decided not to do this again.. and we haven't started officially a relationship.. Sorry, I think I missed the part where you said you aren't actually a couple, is this so? If that's the case then no, you weren't cheating, so then why bother lying? Anyway, it wouldn't do any good to tell him now, if you think you'd actually like to become a couple in the future. That said, he should know that there is a "Friend" from your past that wants to be with you, if things become more serious. I know I'd want to know, just so there are no misunderstandings. Is what you did maybe hurtful to the guy your are dating.. yes I guess it would be if he knew.. but honestly just don't tell him and don't let it worry you.. and if you decide to tell him later on he will most likely understand and may very well surprise you that he might also have been dating others too. When I met my wife she was dating others.. she had to work thru that I was who she wanted to be with and when we went exclusive she only dated me.
