Okay my boyfriend and I split about a month and a half ago and when we did split he told me still wanted to be friends. We have ha it out a few times and at one point he told me he never wanted to talk to me again. Well we are getting along better and he told me he still loves me and he can possibly see us together in the future.

What my question is, is what exactly does staying friends mean. You are supposed to give this person their space, but at the same time be a friend. I hang out with my friends on the weekend and when I'm not working so what i want to know is What Kind Of Friendship Is This?????????

Sounds like a pretty selfish and one-sided friendship. He wants you in his life, but he is not considering your feelings. How do you feel about this? Do you want to be friends and hang out with him with no romantic overtures? Can you handle seeing him possibly hook-up with some other girl on one of your nights out with friends? Would you be comfortable hooking up with someone else in front of him? Do you want to be together with him as a couple? I'm not asking to be mean or sarcastic, these are questions you may want to consider for yourself to help you decide and decipher what he tells you.

Sounds like you need to think about all of this and think about what you want and then communicate that to him and let him know how you feel and how he makes you feel and what you want. Ask him to really think about the same things and then compare your goals and priorities and decide if you are really compatible as friends.

When he wants to hang out with friends, does he mean just the two of you, or that the two of you will be part of a larger group? The larger group idea is what I think of as friends. One-on-one would seem more like dating again and should probably be avoided at this point. Maybe hanging out in a group sometimes will help you two to be friendly and maybe respark the romance - or strengthen your commitment to breaking up.

I have often thought it was pretty one sided myself but when i tell him that he gets mad. I guess I need to stay away from him for awhile. Since we have been apart there has only been about five days that we have gone without seeing each other and i sometimes think that is part of why we don't always hang out when i want to. his brother-in-law and sister just moved to town a couple of months ago ad ever since then he has been spending every waking moment over there and that is one of the reasons our relationship ended when it did!!! i just wish he would realize that he is probably wearing out his welcome over there and is soon gonna realize that when he dumped all of his friends including his gf for his brother-in-law it was a bit of a mistake.
