Ladies: to look more attractive?

Recommended Posts

It seems my physical appearance is a turn-off to many girls. I've mostly only been able to date older women. I am 6 feet tall, 160 lbs, and I have natural red hair (I am Italian, though).

I'm about to turn 23 years old.

What can I do to look better?

Trim your hair down. I love red hair but still think it looks best shorter. You could easily pull it off because you have such a good face.

And yes, as denise said, smile. You have a nice one in picture number two. :)

I would have said the opposite; the cropped hair is a bit metro/gay from a San Francisco standpoint and I think longer hair would work better.

That and don't wear t-shirts with logos... Very 16-year old.

The hair was the main thing that struck me for improvement, too. But then I'm too old to be in your target group, which means too old for hair styles that insist on defying gravity :p:laugh: I agree with Carrie that slightly longer hair might be nice.

Loads of older people wear tees with logo's, they look good.

What kind of t shirt should someone over 16 wear then, something that's just plain and boring?

Mike, nothing wrong with your clothes, but I think you should have your hair way shorter on top, probably even have it flat instead of spiked.

Maybe gain a little weight, put on some muscle. I'm not saying become some sort of lumbering juice head, but you have a good frame, so a little muscle, plus a bit of beef will make you more attractive. I wouldn't worry too much though. 23 is still pretty young and you still have that boyishness to your look. When you get older and your features start to become more mascluline, you'll find that alot more females will be attracted to you.

Oh one more thing. Alot of guys don't look bad, but sometimes their voice can be a bit off putting, especially when they're not to far out of adolescence . You may want to make a recording of your voice and if you sound too boyish, or you sound like you dont have any confidence, you may want to try and change that. We often focus on looks and tend forget the other qualities that attract us to a member of the opposite sex.

I am in the SF Bay Area. Howdy, neighbor.

OP, you may want to define your style more. Dress to reflect your personality.

Right now, just based on these three pictures, if I had to describe you to a girlfriend, I wouldn't describe your "look" from the neck down as anything but "he wears shirts and pants."

Sometimes I style it up a bit, but then people say I look "old"

For example: http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/298392_10150786419640061_503070060_20573706_4370078_n.jpg

BTW, I am known for having a deep voice that often carries. I've had women tell me they "didn't expect my voice to be that deep" from looking at me.

I'm not a good singer, but nonetheless, here is my voice, albeit two years ago: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XveHmvjX4dI

Hit the gym and gain 15 pounds. 175-180 on a 6 foot frame and you'd be a f*cking stud. No homo.

Also, never let your hair get so poofy on the sides like in picture 3.

Everything about that picture is a yes.

Yes to the way your hair is styled.

Yes to you in black.

Yes to the aviators.

And maybe "yes" if you asked should you button up just one button.

Go a touch smaller in your dress shirts.

Then work it within an inch of its life, mike.

Work it until it begs for retirement.

Are you joking? :o

:)

Am I joking about "working it" until it begs for retirement? Yes.

Was I joking about you looking good in the photo you provided? No.

I was completely serious about the things that work for you in the picture.

How your hair is styled (like USMCHokie suggested with the sides slicked back some) is especially flattering.

It's like night and day. 22 year old girls call me a creeper, yet 32, 42 year old women think I'm this stud. It's hard to describe.

I've had older women tell me I made them *** harder than they have in 9 years, yet I've had girls my age ask me if I was a virgin because they thought I was. It's insane.

You do look quite good, but your style looks a quite plain for my tastes.

What about something like these, I think they'd look good on you,

It's all down to taste, I don't find this pic of you attractive, sorry, I don't like the shades or slicked back hair or open shirt, the first 2 pics are much more my taste. I like your build, you don't need to be any more 'beefy' as far as I'm concerned.

I love red hair, my ex has very long red hair and it's amazing, he gets loads of flattering comments about it.

Nothing wrong with t.shirts with logos, my partner lives in band t.shirts (he's late 30's).

But here's the thing, why mould yourself into what you think women might want to see? Why not just be yourself, dress how you want, have your hair how you want, etc etc, be yourself and you'll attract women who love you for you, and not some image you're trying to portray to attract people.

Like I said it's all down to taste, we all find different types attractive.

So how do *you* want your hair, what do *you* like wearing, do *you* want to be a different build??

I totally agree, this is the best advice I've heard yet.

Clothes reflect a persons personality, if you dress in what 'you' like and what you think suits you best, it'll reflect your personality, and it'll be a lot more likely that the kinds of girls that will be attracted to you will be your type/right for you.

Mike, I've never found redheads attractive, you're probably the first I've seen that could make persuade otherwise. ;)

Your build is fine, & if you find someone who's interested in you they'll think you're fine as well.

I actually see nothing wrong w/ the way you dress. Just from the few pics I'd say something from American Eagle would look good on you. Preferably earth tones & neutral colors.

Ignore what the men say since you don't want to date men! Don't change a thing. Count me in as one of those older women who find you attractive. I'd take it a step further and tell you to try modeling. You look very photogenic. Your flame colored hair might get you lots of bookings for the simple fact it is unusual.

I think Elite and Wilhelmina are reputable modelling agencies. Send in some snaps, close up, full length, bathing suit, different angles, etc. and see what they say. Never pay an agency to become a model. Those are scams.

Are you in the UK? I know they are prejudiced against redheads, probably because they look down on the Irish.

Wow! That's a sweeping statement  Yeah we all look down on 'the Irish' in the UK

The UK is one of the countries with the most redheads,

idiots who take the p*ss out of redheads are the type of narrow minded fools who take the p*ss out of absolutely anything deemed as slightly unusual.

I've never heard of people lookng down on the Irish in the UK. But yeah, redheads are generally seen as less appealing over here in the UK.

A lot of people over here seem to be quite judgemental and seem to not be keen on anyone who is 'different'.

Mike,

All I can say is that you are, um, a cutie pie.

If you were to go to a hair stylist, that's the person who could give you the best advice about your hair cut, putting it into the context of the shape of your face and optimizing your face, which is quite handsome, in a very boyish, clean cut way. I like scruffier looks, TBH, but my taste in looks is highly unusual.

As for personal preference? I love LONG hair, or least, long-ish hair on men, so I'd encourage you to grow it out, slick it back in the meantime while you're waiting for it to grow, and then see a hair stylist. And don't make your hair look "styled" in the classic sense. It should flatter your face, and I don't think your current cut is as flattering as it could be, that's all.

But with gorgeous hair like that, don't cut it short, that's crazy. Grow it and show it off. Bet it might have burgundy undertones ...

Your build is fine. No need to gain weight at your age or feel the need to bulk up. You're not underweight at all. Yeesh, you look very well proportioned. Really, Mike -- people should have such issues as you have, you've got it pretty good in the looks department. Hope your personality is just as striking. :)

True, there's also plenty of men and women who find redheads very attractive, I think my partner was a bit disappointed I'm not a (natural) redhead

Went out tonight with my buddies...a ton of people at the bar...a ton of young hot girls. Not one glance.Ughhhhh what do I do? I should move to the south where country girls have lower standards for lesser looking men.
