Queen Zenobia
Ptp, I'm not going to lie. I saw you coming down the walk and almost slammed the door on this thread and locked it. Did you break anything in the house? I'm at work or I would have. Flippin Raiders. If the 49ers lose tomorrow, you'll be reading about me in the papers. Me too. I would very much appreciate it if San Fran could bail out my Ravens after we played a stinker tonight. Ugh .
cerridwen
Me too. I would very much appreciate it if San Fran could bail out my Ravens after we played a stinker tonight. Ugh . No way. I'm still mad about my loss to you. Sure, you were gracious. But now I can't hear "Ball So Hard" without thinking about that defeat.
cerridwen
Mind = blown. Rorty, Heidegger, the nexus, I dig it. Enjoy. That Heidegger book is for crap. I gave it a go but then threw it across the library of my country estate, and sat back in my leather club chair, scowling before a roaring fire. I stroked my beard contemplatively. Why must these philosophers be so...philosophical?! How is Rorty coming along, Bd? Let me know if it needs cracking.

We'll likely go to Jaws where they were 60. How's your vehicle? You should buy a Rubicon.

ptp
<rant> You know what I dislike most about LS...it is that on this board a woman's idea of sexuality is the only right one. When did the "right way" become the only what women think? Sexuality is different for different people and unless you are at fringes of it (which are illegal) by and large there is no right or wrong. Why is how I approach it wrong? It isn't; it is just different. It bugs the hell out of me how these women on here expect all men should conform to their ideas and label guy who dis agrees with them as chauvinistic. </rant> Just to add to my rant: Older female who dates 20 something male: - Is a progressive female, who is encouraged. - "girl, you don't look your age anyway, you look at least 10 years younger" Older male who wants to date 20 something female: - Creep, who is trying to manipulate a younger woman - Loser who can't find women his own age to date How people get away with such hypocrisy just amazes me. carhill
Built man-fire, fed man-cat and now settling in to read about one of my favorite dead business mentors, Steven Paul Jobs. Body is sore from a weekend of carpentry, drywall, and occasional zaps from malfunctioning electrical. Lots of alcohol and ribs and steaks were consumed. One friend is very happy with the results. Merry Christmas.

carhill
Ha, if you like Helen now, watch Cook, Thief, His Wife and Her Lover or Passion of Ayn Rand or Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone. I was copying an original VHS tape of CTWL to DVD the other night and reminded myself of why I liked older women as a young man. They might call her 'Dame' but I'd be calling her something else if she weren't very married. It's a Russian thing (she's Russian by heritage and so am I). I honestly can't figure it out. What do you mean it's a Russian thing? What you'd call her? Czarina? Give me a hint.

Something to do with the language being so precise. I gave up on Rorty after about 20 pages. Trouble with modern philosophers is they are always referencing other philosophers and I cannot be arsed to read all of them. I AM A BUSY MAN! BRING ME THE EXECUTIVE SUMMARY. Started reading Through the Language Glass: How Words Colour your World. Much more more enjoyable. I've also just read this. I'm sure half the chaps on this site would do well to give it a read. Carhill, my God man that is just wrong....very very wrong. Helen Mirren is ~20 years older than my mother. The older women I was talking about is Jessica Chastain. She is so good in the movie.
