cerridwen
Man, I'd love to go to the game next week. Championship game at Candlestick. 45 minute flight, SD. The Stick's just as decrepit as we remember it being in our youth.

cerridwen
Sweet! Buy me a ticket. Me love you long time. That didn't work on me 10 clicks outside Saigon, it's not going to work on me now. Actually, if I pay for your plane ticket, fill my vehicle's gas tank. The cost will be roughly equivalent. Deal?

cerridwen
Okay. So, a friend will be coming to town so I looked into fun things to do. I started researching Great White Shark Cage Diving and got super excited. They take you out in boats to the Farallons Island, which are beyond the Golden Gate Bridge. You're put in shark cages in the water with Great Whites the size of large automobiles. Rad, right? But here's the thing. I figured to attract the sharks, they just chum the water. No. This locale is picked because of the high seal population so what you'll witness while in the cage, are sharks attacking seals in all its bloodiness. Ugh. Who wants to see that? I'd be so bummed witnessing a seal slaughtering. Wish they'd just chum the water instead. Edited January 17, 2012 by cerridwen
Author betterdeal
I bet they do chum it and pick a spot where the sharks will cruise and come prod your cage a bit. That's the money shot.

I'm not so sure, Bd. Similar descriptions to this are on the sites I found. The sharks come to the Farrallons to dine on the local population of Northern Elephant Seals. You'll find yourself rooting for the seals as they compete in a race for their lives against some of the planet's most incredible marine predators. Watching this natural great white feeding event is an experience you'll never forget. I'd vomit. But, I'll look around some more. Perhaps you're right.
Author betterdeal
Ah, sounds like they do take you to the kill then. I like the sound of this: http://www.walkerbayadventures.co.za/ Paddle out to sea and dive with sharks. What could possibly go wrong?

Well, turns out my friend doesn't want to see a seal slaughter any more than I do. We're sensitive women. So, it's off to Napa for wine tasting. Should be a snooze... Just a bathing suit in SF bay LOL, I'm not a polar bear. Or whatever you call those crazy old people. Oddly enough, she's actually Scuba certified. I'm sure I could handle something like that.
