Why Am I so tanned even though I don't tan and wear hats

Recommended Posts

I used to ran out in the sun when i was young( age 13 and up) cause i didn't care and also nobody told me to wear protection and i was stupid i guess.

But i stopped doing that at about age 23 because i had knee problems. anyways, ever since i've been wearing hats, and trying to stay in the shade(not very posible because i live in CA)

but anyways, now i cover, i wear hats, and yet I look all tanned.

How come?

I see girls who live in CA and they are completely white and untanned.

Not that i wanna be a girl but it seems that my skin just tans easily from from Bouncing light. cause i cover, so i don't see why i get tanned.

You still need sunscreen. I noticed my arms are quite tan and realized I had only been using sunscreen on my face. I am hardly ever outside in the sun so it shocked me.

Keep in mind that you should be taking vitamin D3 supplements as well since we get D from the sun but many people's bodies don't convert D too well. D3 improves your mood and is a natural antidepressant.

Some people's skin just contains more melanin, so their skin reacts to smaller amounts of UV-radiation.

This is a good thing. Even normal amounts of melanin absorb 99% of UV rays and convert it into heat through internal conversion. If you have more melanin, then you are much less likely to get melanomas.

You might even be less likely to get Parkinson's disease, and your hearing may be better than your peers. Melanin is good stuff. Be happy.
