Why is it so hard

I just got out of a relationship, and i know it takes time to heal, but i'm a med student and i just dont have the time to keep thinking about my ex day in, day out.. i'm mostly feeling regret and despair because although he dumped me, it was really because i hurt him.

so what should i do to forget about the loss more quickly and move on??

Take this as a learning experience. Some lessons are harder than others. Don't do what you did to him to somebody else. Continue toward your goal. Forgive yourself. Those are some ideas.

Hey there Nohbody- and wow, again thx for offering ur insight...

but even if i probably don't deserve to stop feeling hurt so quickly, how do i at least stop thinking about this and start focusing on other aspects of my life?

just think yeah you hurt him, but the one who is right for you, will forgive you anyways. bottom line, that who you are as a person, you hurt people sometimes. someone who is in love with the real you must be able to love that.

i know i did. with my last ex. so just tell you.

take it as, not working out. anyways.

'Deserve' is a word with downright cosmic implications. Would you like to know a secret? Just between us:

No one deserves anything. In an absolute sense, I qualify.

If you feel badly about what you did, then that is a credit to you; you have a conscience. You will have to work things out for yourself, and no one can tell you how to do that. You may want to consider talking with a counselor (your school SHOULD have someone to talk to for free) if it becomes particularly distracting... but take it slow.

You made a mistake, no changing it. Focus on the future and what you can do now to affect it.

NOHBODY- i disagree (for the first time ever), i think people do deserve somethings... i think good deserves good and bad deserves bad, simply put. & how those come out in your life just depends on the circumstances.

you realize you messed up, forgive yourself and start the healing process... start NC if that will help you re-focus. its really hard and mostly everyone takes a step back once or twice, but just try again!
