Need the "do"s and "don't"s for Prom Night

Recommended Posts

There is a girl I recently met who goes to another school named Jen. We are both 17 in High School. We met, got to know each other a bit, and eventually I asked her out to our school's Prom and she said she would love to. However, she's also going with another guy from her school to her school's Prom. Apparently, he is a senior and the only reason she accepted was because this was his last year of High School and therefore she decided it would be fine to just go as friends and nothing more.

Here is where I need help. My other friend has been telling me things over time. For example, I know that Jen got really excited after I asked her to Prom and she was telling all her friends, which I thought was pretty nice. Apparently she likes me to an extent but I don't know how much... I know I like her. However, I'd like to make our Prom night go well.

I would like to know some things that I should consider on Prom Night - what do you girls usually enjoy doing/having your guy do? I'd really like to make our night stand out; it would be shame if she had more fun with the guy she claims she is not interested in. We have coordinated clothing for the night which is nice... but she is not sure if she wants to go out to dinner; she says her grandmother is a pretty good cook, so that's something to consider.

My question to you women out there... (or guys that have had things work out in this area)... is how I can make sure she has a good time Prom night and what I should avoid doing.

By all means, take her to dinner. An evening with grandma is not acceptable prom night fun. Get her the flowers, etc. I don't know any high school girl going to prom who wouldn't expect those things. As far as the kiss, I'm sure you can slip one in when saying goodnight.
