CarrieT
I don't think I'd be able to talk my wife into it without her being a little disappointed about me leaving for 3 days. And for no pay? Here's the rub... If you can't talk to your wife openly and honestly -- regardless of the disappointment -- than how solid is your marriage. I am an artist on the side of being a corporate slug and there is no way to be a creator without investment. She has to understand this part. Granted, you went into this just wanting to make music but if the rest of the band wants to try and move forward, they will need to make a financial investment which often calls for working without income. I would give all the options to your wife. Include how disappointed and what a set-back it would be to the band to leave based on how much progress you have made. If your relationship is strong and honest, she should be able to trust you and see how important it is to you. Lastly, is there any reason she and your son couldn't join you on the road for those three days?
