sagweee
I share a computer with my Mom as I live downstairs in her home. I recently sent a very private email to a friend about problems I was having with a guy. A few days ago my mom said some negative things about him and seemed upset. Well today I was looking for one of my documents becuase I wanted to up-date a resume and in "Mom's personal documents" I noticed a heading I had used when I had sent the email to my friend. I looked at the document and to my horror it was the same email I had sent my friend about this guy, but it was in Microsoft Word format as it had been an attachement before (which it never was) I want to ask HOW is it possible that my private email got into her documents? Is it possible she has a device on the computer that tracks everything I write and files it away in a secret folder? I am writing this on another computer because I don't trust the one at home. Could somebody please explain HOW my private email became part of "Mom's personal documents" under the heading "Things.." ? Thanks
lullabelle
Your mom probably has access to your e-mail account (meaning she knows your password). Do you access your mail via a Web mail interface i.e. hotmail.com or do you use an e-mail client like Outlook? There's no way she could get that attachment without viewing the original e-mail and it couldn't have been converted into a Word doc unless she manually copied/saved it into that format. Or you slipped and copied her on the e-mail (which is probably highly unlikely?) I don't think there is a key logger out there that is that advanced to save text into Word docs. Author sagweee
My Mom has an email account directly linked to the computer, but I only use hotmail. Several months ago I noticed something was opened up that I never opended and thought it was my ex-boyfriend who had guessed my password, so I changed it. Now I realize it must have been he because my password was the name of a cat I used to have, but after that incident several months ago I changed the password to something else and I don't see HOW she could have gotten it!! I am sure 100% that I never copied the email. Is it possible that the computer somehow "gave" her my new password? SHould I confront her about this? This is VERy embarassing, humiliating and a violation of my privacy! I don't know HOW she could do something like this? WHat should I do?
lullabelle
She may have a key logger installed on the computer you both use. PM me and I'll show you how can find out if one is installed on your computer.
