wilsonx
So I have been talking to this girl for a month now. We finally exchanged numbers Sunday night and she came and hung out with me at a bar Wed night. We both had a lot of fun together and each went our separate ways. So here's the really interesting part. I added her on facebook and her roommate I swear to god has a twin sister that is my ex's roommate. I had done everything to stay out of that circle. This girl is a lifeguard at a gym I have been a member to for YEARS. ugh FML...

Author wilsonx
Keep talking and see what happens. Her and I have a lot of fun together. My ex doesnt bother me anymore, most of my anger is gone and what is left has been turned inward towards myself and I have done all the reflecting possible. I actually find it humorous that I have done everything possible to get out of the circle and I keep getting dragged back into it somehow. The city I live in 62 square miles, its a HUGE city. lol
betterdeal
I have a theory there's only 500 real people in the world and the rest are all holograms - looks like your experience is holding true to that! The thing with social circles is they're entirely permeable. That is to say, you can drift in and out as you please (within reason). With your new found self-awareness, I doubt you'll feel obliged to stay in it if it gets messy. Liberty.

smudge21
I can add to this: Worked a few years back for an IT company that would support other, smaller companies. So I'm placed in one such small company and obviously plenty of nice ladies there to speak to. Hit it off with one and we start seeing each other. After a few weeks my boss comes over and I show him round and two guys together, we start talking and eventually get on to women. I'm about to mention I'm seeing this one girl when she actually knocks on my office door. I open it, feeling quite smug (as she was definitely attractive) thinking my boss would also find her attractive then I'd say oh yeah, that's the girl I'm dating. I'm stopped in my tracks by the fact she walks over and gives him a hug with the words "uncle" and he replies "niece"... Suffice to say I kept my mouth shut after that but she continued to tease me about it for some time...
