quietGuy13
They say you should limit sun exposure to 15 minutes or something or avoid the sun. I try but still the sun is everywhere, even if not directly..bouncing light still hits you that's why I am tanned even though i try to avoid the sun with hats etc. But anyways, some people do gardening or are laborers and do hard work outside.....all day long or something or a few hours. I don't quite understand how we should limit ourselves if work is usually done outside. You can try hats and wear protective clothes, but still the sun bounces rays all over. LIke my father's has done labor outside in the hot sun all his life. Cause htat's his work.. He can't stop doing his work. So , i only see that people who can avoid the sun are usually people in nice comfy offices or store clerks tthat stay inside the store all day long. I myself never go to the beach and lay there to tan.. And i wear hats etc, but still it's not very realistic that i can avoid the sun at all times. I would have to wear a total body suit everytime i go out side.

It's actually a good thing in that it produces vitamin D. That being said I don't care much about how tan I am. I know some people can't stand the thought of not going tanning multiple times per week. If you look at some older women who loved tanning for years and years, their skin looks like leather. josie54
People can be out in the sun for all the time they need to be--but if they don't want to increase their risk for skin cancers or premature aging, they'll need to wear sunscreen of 30 SPF or higher at all times. Takes five minutes to put on, so it's quick to apply even if they have to do so two or three times a day. If they don't want to wear sunscreen, as you say, they don't need to. But there will be consequences. At worst, they are much more likely to get skin cancer, which puts their lives at risk, and at best, they are sure to get wrinkles and leathery skin that will make them look years older than they actually are. It's everyone's personal choice.
kodax
I am at the opposite end... I'd count myself lucky to see fifteen minutes of sunshine on a workday! At least I will leave a smooth, unblemished corpse when I ultimately die of rickets.
