How much weight do you think I need to lose?

If I'm a male, 5'9" and 170lbs and "think" I need to lose 3 inches around the waist with a composition that seems to distribute fat evenly across my body, how much weight would that be? I'm guessing 15 lbs but of course that's a guess.

Keep in mind that's a cold height, none of that "billed" up stuff most people like to do :p, and I have small bones, which I think can be used to factor in the amount of weight.

some reference measurements:

waist 32

chest 42

arms 16.5

If you want to lose vanity pounds, or shall we say inches, then do cardio. Work out on a tread mill, go for long walks, or start to jog. You do not necessarily have to change your diet to accommodate for this. Definitely speak to a doctor, or another qualified individual about what is healthy for you to lose. This would depend on a few different factors, such as age, your BMI, and present diet and level of activity.

I'm still trying to shave off this last inch from my tummy, but then again I've skimped on the cardio. So it's no huge deal :) But definitely increasing your activity might get rid of some of that vanity fat which is bugging you, and you won't need to alter your diet. Just be sure to eat healthy.

The "big boned" and "small boned" thing is just a myth. That won't even enter into it.

well...it's a myth when fat ppl use it, hehe. Seriously though there is such a thing I think. I remember seeing some hawaiian or samoan royalty guy who to me was probably the sturdiest built guy...not muscle but his frame actually resembled a gorilla...to me ;)

you know, take for example a guy like brok lesnar from WWE, he's 6'4" and weighs 295...that's some serious skeletal weight. I have a friend who is my height and weighs 230 and would not look it. I'm sure you have to know some people with very bones. If you saw me you'd know what I'm talking about...I have little ankles and wrists...some women(lots...shudder) have hands bigger than mine! Speaking of man hands...that's an example. I know dainty femme females and I know hulking manly "that's a man, baby!" women

hehehe :D

here's reference: You remember stallone from the first rocky (I forget if he looked the same for 1 or more rockys)? And then the insane conditioned stallone in the latter ones? That's what I'm talking about...I'm built like OG stallone, lol. I consider that out of shape :p

Don't lose weight dude. Everyone knows bigger is better, k good. I'm 6'0 and lately I've been see-sawing between 230 and 240. I'm only about 20 lbs over but im not really in a rush. What I've found to be the most helpful method of getting more cut isn't weight loss at all. In my case, I'll continue this weight shifting deal until I find a happy medium, but in yours, you might benefit alot faster than me, when you consider that I'm alot more over weight than you. Anyways all you have to do is pick up some protein. Take 2 shakes on a work out day and 1 on days you rest. Make sure you including RUNNING as well as some lifting in your session. Running is the most important. I'd say you could get away with curls, pishups, situps, and the running for a few weeks and you'll be there quicker than you thought. Just make sure to stay consistant about it. Your waist should shrink, as you probly wanted, and those arms and wrists will look just "gorilla-like" as those other guys you see who've been working out alot longer. BTW This is a great way to do it for those who can afford the protein, and not the weights :D like myself. Example: Curl a bowling ball when it's in the bag with a handle, small suitcases or duffle bags full of some weight help also.
