Besmy
Hello everyone, I have got a new boss since a couple of months. He has always been extemely serious and professional with me in every respect, besides he never came across as very "approacheable" really, so I always limited my interaction with him to the strictly necessary. Now is the funny bit. I have recently split from an idiot of ex and in the days immediately after the split I watched the movie "the Secret", where they say that you shall put "an order" to the universe and mind what you wish for. So I thought ok, I wish I had a big tall blond guy with blue eyes, kind of nordic viking. Didn't think much about it, after all it's just a movie. Back in the office one day I look at my new boss and think ah! he actually matches the description, I wish I had someone like him (mind I said like him, not precisely him). And yes I realise that he is - at least to me - handsome and attractive. A few times I looked at him from a distance (remember he didn't come across as approcheable to me...) just admiring his beauty, thought nothing about it. He noticed. Somehow he did. Once he was talking to sb, I was staring at him and when he turned he caught me looking at him lost in my thoughts, so I looked immediately away and probably blushed. Ok, again didn't think much of it. But this is when he started winking at me. If I have to tell him something we talk and then right at the end he would smile and wink. This is now happening almost every day and even more than once and I have been starting to think that he fancies me but then hey! would you really flirt with the person reporting into you? It seems he cannot talk to me in a normal way any more. For those of you who are thinking "and how do you react to this?" I can say I smile back most of the times and I probably blush every now and then. I find him attractive and I am sure he can read it all over my face. He must be 40 (I am 30+) so we are not talking about a young silly guy and as I said he comes across as very serious and professional. There are other small details like body language that would better describe the situation but I think that this constant winking is the core point. What do you make of it? I don't want necessarily think that he fancies me but really cannot imagine a good reason why he would do it. All your opinions are as always most welcome.
Lucky_One
I have two contractors working at my house. One is a perpetual winker. It's just a social tic he has. He winks at me at the end of every conversation - and we have many conversations a day. As for your never noticing it before, remember that you have only recently been talking with him at all, as you said he was unapproachable and strictly limited your interaction.
