betterdeal
It starts with seeing an imperfect person perfectly. You see their imperfections, as well as the good bits, and you start from there. As Ray Charles said, it's the imperfections that make it perfect. We are all works in progress. Finding people with which to live, love and learn in ways we enjoy and benefit from, is where it all begins. Agree? Disagree?
january2011
I like the idea that he may not be perfect, but he's perfect for me. *nods*
thehead
It definitely helps to go in eyes wide open and with the expectation and acceptance of flaws. But plenty of people on LS become spooked when they discover imperfections. They are quick to label them "red flags." Some rightfully so, others seem to over-analyze or are unreasonable in their expectations.
Mrlonelyone
I can agree with that to an extent. Someone has to have the presence of mind to know that their brain can fool them into ignoring serious character flaws. That those love chemicals that our brain releases have to be tempered with some right thinking. In short don't associate in love with someone you wouldn't associate with out side of a romantic context.
Eve
It starts with seeing an imperfect person perfectly. You see their imperfections, as well as the good bits, and you start from there. As Ray Charles said, it's the imperfections that make it perfect. We are all works in progress. Finding people with which to live, love and learn in ways we enjoy and benefit from, is where it all begins. Agree? Disagree? I like the idealism but must admit that I have a thing about perfection, especially in relation to perfect timing. To me, it is all about being able to convey appreciation as no one has a perfect grasp of perception - but can relay and share a lot via appreciation. Imperfections are ok only if the person can see them for themselves and can openly laugh at them. Otherwise they often become serious flaws. Take care, Eve x

Feelin Frisky
No one is perfect and I don't think relationships should be couched as perfect or imperfect. It's more of an issue of how high you fly and whether both value that height over other things that may crop up. I love it up there on "the cloud" and hate having circumstances knock me off of it. But I expect they'll happen. I won't like it but I'll survive and try not be the one who trashes the height or the cloud over some earthly contention.
