NicoleM
I am having a really hard time trusting people in general. I always think they have an ulterior motive. My friends I can somewhat trust them but I always worry they are going to go around my back and talk behind it and my boyfriend I worry he is cheating on me and only because he broke some of that trust a few months ago when I caught him on eharmony but he luckily he hasn't been on there since I caught him and he swears to me he will never go back on. He is a looking man and very flirty when we go out to clubs but he never hits on them he just stares at the good looking waitresses. I always worry he is going to leave me for another girl. I want to trust him but since he keeps some things private I cannot help but obsess. How do I ever get past this?? We have had this discussion before we both agreed not to cheat but I still cannot get it out of my head or keep checking his eharmony page to make sure he isn't active. Eve
I have trust issues but they don't really invade my life. I suppose I just don't make as much of an effort as I probably could to get close to people. BUT, all I can say is that in this instance your gut feeling of not trusting your bf may be right. He does sound dodgy to me. He kind of just does. Take care, Eve x
Feelin Frisky
There is certainly nothing to lose by getting professional help. You may have a physical anxiety problem that manifests as fear of betrayal or abandonment. There are ways to short-circuit the rush of "fear fluids" after which it becomes much easier to trust yourself that you've resolved the irrationality.
