I need to run this past someone...

Hello all. I have come to this forum for dating advice obviously. I am 18 and have no experience, which I am no ashamed of. It does however put me in a position to need to ask for advice.

There is a particular book store that I like. It usually has a good selection of books and CDs at reasonable prices. There is also this girl who works there. I have seen he off and on and she always smiles at me. Initially I wrote this off simply as the worker being nice to customer. But then I recently went back and found a CD that I wanted so I went to the cash register, and she was the cashier. She is doing kind of the little girlish smiling thing. I am not totally daft at these sorts of things, I have had girls hit on me before, and I can regonize it. She keeps smiling at me as I give her my debit card and she looks down at it, either at my picture or my name, or maybe both. So I pay take my CD and leave. Later I began to think that maybe I could start something with her. So I thought of three ways I could approach her, but I wanted to run them past expierenced people before I actually tried one.

1. Provided she is not behind a register, I was going to ask her to help me find a book that I know they have, as a means to initiate conversation. This also would not be totally pulling her away from her work, since I am a customer who actually does want to buy this book.

2. If she is behind a register, I will wait until there is no one in line, buy the book, except this time I actually ask her out.

3. This one is more of a joke than anything else, but it is still a possibility. I could ask her to find out if they have a book, and when she goes to type the title into her computer I could say something like "The title is: When do you get off, perhaps we get coffee or something". I am not likely to ever do something like this, it seems a little risky, but I thought it was musing none the less.

Thank you for your help
